We can't even compare Amare and Chriss at the same stage. Amare was ROY, and improved each year. You could see Amare's work with Weber on his jump shot. I don't hate Chriss, but he's no Amare.

But he dunked. A LOT.

Let's not understate how strong and quick Amar'e was when he cam into the league.

I'm not too worried about Chriss. Maybe Chriss's bad Summer League play gives more opportunity to Bender, who I think is ultimately the better player. And it's just SL; if Chriss shows up ready to kick ass this fall, all will be forgiven.

If you want to see "chip on the shoulder" in the right way, look at young Amare. If you want to see it in the wrong way, look at young Marquese.

In short: take it out on the rim, not the refs.

I saw Amare at the Long Beach summer league his rookie year. He was an absolute powerhouse. Great hands, power dunking, blocking shots, he was an absolute joy to watch. Sure, he didn't shoot threes but we didn't want him to. He was much more impressive than Quese is now.

I'm not sure what you're looking for as far as power, but he's got more of a power game than Bender. And Chriss doesn't have the perimeter skills to be a SF.

5 Worst NBA Contracts at Every Position

One of our very own is the #1 PG. Can you guess who? ;)

No. 1 Worst Point Guard: Brandon Knight, Phoenix Suns

Age: 25

2016-17 Per-Game Stats: 11.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.1 blocks, 39.8 percent shooting

Remaining Contract Value: Three years, $43.9 million

Is Brandon Knight a point guard? Shooting guard? Perennially undervalued? Unfairly judged? Completely hopeless?

Might he be a little bit of everything?

No one seems to know. What's more, teams aren't lining up to dig deeper into one of the league's most prominent Rubik's Cubes.

The Phoenix Suns couldn't give him away at the trade deadline. They were asking for an expiring contract and a second-round pick, according to USA Today's Sam Amick, and didn't get any bites—something SB Nation's Tom Ziller couldn't wrap his head around:

"Brandon Knight is only 25 years old. It feels like he is a nine-year veteran at this point. But he came into the league at age 19 and is a journeyman only because he keeps getting traded (first for Brandon Jennings, then in the Isaiah Thomas deal). Point guards take a while to reach their potential. There’s still hope of improvement."

These are good points. But Knight also devolved into unplayable as a reserve, which is a big problem when you're being paid like a starter. His field-goal percentages plummeted from all over the floor, and he failed to register as an off-ball threat. When he was shut down for the season in February, he owned the league's second-worst plus-minus, beating out only Trevor Booker.

Stick Knight on a team with more shooters and better defenders behind him, and maybe he flourishes. For now, until he's in the perfect situation or proves he can maximize his role with Phoenix, he's forfeited the benefit of the doubt.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Amare made real impact in the team his rookie year, even as he only had one hability, he did it at an Uber level, and was a clear cut starter that got national spotlight for his play, so even as this claim is correct, you are totally wrong on where they were in their respective rookie seasons, unless you refer to development, wich is not the same that career.

Amare was a MUCH better rebounder than Chriss, too.

Yet everyone went thermonuclear when Amare would only get 7 or 8 rebounds a game.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Amare was an average rebounder who should have been a great rebounder. It seemed like he almost never had a 7 or 8 rebound game. It was 12 when he was dialed in or 4 when he wasn't.

M. Chriss is a genuinely bad rebounder. Bender is, too. At least one of those guys is going to have to go get the ball.

LOL was just about to post that. It is true tho, Amar'e wasn't a natural rebounder and would be out of position or get caught watching.

Good thing that Chandler and Big Sauce are excellent rebounders and that Len is a very good rebounder.

It's been fun actually having real centers on the floor who can get the ball.

If not a touch ironic that when we needed a big man we had no-one and when the big man became redundant we drafted Len and signed Chandler.

I'm not sure Knight fits their description as a veteran to mentor Frank but they are looking for younger, more athletic players so who knows. You just never know with the Knicks.
