NEW YORK—Saying that late October through mid-April looks to be an incredibly tough stretch for them, league experts said Wednesday that the newly released 2013-14 NBA schedule does not bode well for the Phoenix Suns. “The schedule isn’t kind to Phoenix at all—they start off against the Trail Blazers at home, and then there are about 81 games there where they’ll face teams that present some pretty tough matchups for them,” said NBA On ESPN analyst Jalen Rose, also highlighting games against the Heat, Spurs, Thunder, Bulls, Rockets, Clippers, Warriors, Celtics, Cavaliers, Grizzlies, Pelicans, Nets, Knicks, 76ers, Magic, Wizards, Nuggets, Timberwolves, Jazz, Lakers, Kings, Bobcats, Raptors, Hawks, and Mavericks as incredibly difficult games for the Suns. “The schedule gets a little easier during the All-Star break, but after that there isn’t any let-up.” When asked to comment on the schedule, Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said he has circled the team’s 41 away games and 41 home games as contests that could pose significant tests.

In which Suns fans become jealous of 'the process.' - https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2017/8/8/1 ... -fans-gmib
The Process is a concept invented by fans of the Philadelphia 76ers to cope with a half-decade long rebuild project that, in its early years, prioritized losing over everything else, including player development. While former GM Sam Hinkie is most closely associated with The Process and the mantra that supports it -- Trust the Process -- the whole thing is entirely a fan creation.

The Phoenix Suns have been losing for a while, too. So Suns fans got inventive: they came up with The Timeline, a Process knock-off with a different angle. The Timeline, as explained in the Suns' Limited Upside preview podcast, is a plan to build around the team's youth, including Devin Booker, Josh Jackson, Marquese Chriss, and Dragan Bender. Any trade that would upset that plan would be frowned upon by Timeline acolytes. (Although it seems fans are down on Chriss.) This is not the case in the faith of The Process, where trades are part and parcel with the belief system.

Kudos to Suns fans for finding something to get excited about. Phoenix is the best NBA franchise to never win a championship (with the Utah Jazz right behind them). You just hope at some point they don't need to trick themselves into being happy with a slow rise from mediocrity and can enjoy a winning club again.
Go Suns!

Brilliant, and all too accurate even now.

I would bet $$$ that #thetimeline is a Sarver marketing tactic. He thought #theprocess was cool, and he want's to be cool, too.

It may have turned into one, but I was there when Kris tweeted the original tweet that Espo and Dave got ahold of turning it into something. It did not originate with the Suns PR department.

The sunburst logo is the best in all sports. There's no other logo that comes close.

I especially like it in that black/white logo at the end of the promo.

Looked like a lot of purple and black. I'd like that with some splash of the orange to accent everything.

I agree. I really hated when we went to the phoenix rising from the ashes logo. Haven't been able to find a decent hat in a long time. To be fair I stopped looking a few years ago.

That vid gives me hope.

I love the Phx rising logo, but I agree it sucks for hats.

I really love the current jerseys, so I'm pretty nervous about a redesign.
