Why haven't we signed Tony Allen yet? I'd love to get a year of mentoring out of him to help Booker and the rest of the young guys learn defense. Plus we could unload him at the deadline if it brings us assets.

I wish everyone could learn to be as good as a defender as Tony Allen, just by him being on the team. If that was the case, he would be worth his weight in gold+.

Tony's Allen's weight in gold would be about half the MLE.

5 suggestions for shooting guards the Suns could sign:

I'd pretty much be fine with any of them at the vet minimum.

I don't know about you guys but I haven't been impressed by Millsap in the least.

Agreed. He hasn't looked like an NBA player. I'm not sure what he does well other than keep our brother streak alive.

Tony's Allen's weight in gold would be about half the MLE.
How about if I add per month?

He meant Oliver Miller's weight in gold.

Ha, so probably exactly what he's worth

I believe his contract is not guaranteed, so I assume he's gone as soon as there is a reason to make a roster move. In the meantime, he's cheap and he won't make a fuss when he doesn't get minutes.

Milsap isn't an NBA player. As far as that list goes, Obviously, Tony Allen makes most sense. No to Goodwin and Green. Neither one of those guys brings anything that we don't already have and Goodwin didn't strike me as the best locker room guy. I don't know much about James Young other than he had potential but couldn't get a lot of minutes in Boston. I've said it before, that I think the team needs another veteran. I think there are too many young guys for only Chandler and Dudley to handle.

I pretty much agree with this. Barbosa makes a lot of sense, if he wants to come back.

I'd be more interested in taking some talent form the D-League but there's no indication we'd recognize it when we see it *cough* Seth Curry *cough.*

That would be $7.7 million at today's spot price of $1320 per troy oz. (and Ollie at a svelt 400 lbs).

Wait, so what you're saying is that you'd like to form a D-League in addition to the G-League? I don't know. I think that's going to a little too much trouble to find a backup shooting guard.

Green would add some sorely needed 3-point shooting. And I kind of have a soft spot for Archie.

I was a fan of Green when he was here. He's definitely a shooter. Archie is still the same player he was in college. He drives to the hoop and looks for contact. He hasn't improved a single one of his weaknesses since being in the league. Can't shoot, below average FT, poor defense.

I'm at the point where I want guys brought in that help improve the young players on the team rather than the win/loss record.

I would honestly give Deron Williams a look. We don't need a PG, until Bled gets injured. But we could use someone with William's experience playing at an all-star level. Monte Ellis available too, I believe.

Gerald Green is actually riding around in a boat right now rescuing people in Houston. Kind of crazy.
