Should Ryan McDonough be next to go?
After hearing people lamenting that the Suns traded their best player (Dragic), McDonough retorted, "Our response to that, I think, is that Eric Bledsoe and M******f M****s are still in Phoenix Suns’ uniforms."
D'oh!
We all remember that. Dragic was our best player no question. McD needs to check the way he sends messages to the media. In this era everybody hears everything and words are juiced to the limit.
For sure McD needs to learn a little restraint. Let's see if he does and while still with the Suns. That's been a problem with the organization from top to bottom ever since Colangelo sold the team. No experts. Everybody is learning their jobs on the fly. From Sarver, to McDonough, to coaching staff, to support personel. The interim coach bucks that trend and what do you know? He's getting results.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Didn't he start off slow last year too with his shooting %? Watching his effort with rebounding, I wouldn't be surprised if he kept up his rb numbers the entire year. I want to see his turnovers decrease and efficiency improve though.
Agreed. If we play defense and actually get stops, the rebounds are there for him. And now that the ball and his teammates are moving more, I think he can get the assists, too. But I'd like him to hit a lot more 3s. Like .380 or better this season.

His minutes will be interesting to watch. He won't play as much under Triano, so his totals might not go up as much as we hope. But his per/36 numbers should be better than last season.

I think he did, but can't tell for sure. I think 6rpg is a lot for him. On that front, Jackson needs to pick up his boards. Less than 3rpg is absurd for someone as athletic.

As much as I'm enjoying the change in effort and the guys being competitive , I understand that conventional wisdom says we still in for lots of losing and ending up back in the lottery. Honestly tho, now that it is open season for sports shows with lots of folks looking to poke fun at the Suns part of me wishes we could shut them up sooner rather than later. It's funny how nobody seems to mention that the team has looked better since the Firing when they are going on these rants but just that the Suns are a dumpster fire yada yada

It makes better news if we're a total mess. It's almost like those last two games didn't happen.

It's because most of them don't actually watch the Suns.

Its absolutely amazing how many factual errors they make when talking about the Suns.

It is lazy reporting and parroting of stuff they heard someone say without doing any real research themselves. They used to do the same thing in the 7SOL days. Nobody cares about the Suns expect Suns fans.

A friend of mine who was very active in political campaigns told me once that most reporters are very lazy and will report whatever particular story you serve up to them.

Haha, this doesn't surprise me at all. Have you seen the stuff reported in politics?

Sorry, gang, but when the Suns start being run like a leading-edge NBA franchise with serious playoff goals (as it once was), then better reporting will occur.

The recent Suns have been the equivalent of the Ted Stepien era Cleveland Cavaliers.

I'm happy they've won two games, but the Suns still have a befuddled, hands-on owner, an erratic, short-sighted GM, and former face-of-the-franchise player at home, cooling his heels. They've made a micron of progress versus miles of incompetence.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

https://twitter.com/Suns/status/924347304915562496 Such a fun story. Put a smile on my face until the exact second I saw the celebration.

Was such a fun year though. Starting with being glued to the Olympics watching Chuck just destroy kids all the way to the finals.

Some really good memories in there before fucking MJ went coast to coast followed by fucking Paxson.

Today's "I wish" headline:

The Suns Aren’t Robert Sarver’s Team
“Are you crazy?! You think I’m going to go for seven years and try to get there? You enjoy the 2030 draft picks that we have holding? I want to try to see the game today.” — Ish 3/13/25

Thanks for posting that, EDC. I remember it well but it's great to hear all the behind the scene stuff. I didn't realize that KJ got hurt during the celebration.

I was just coming to post this. What a blistering condemnation of $arver. I do think that this team's ceiling will be low for as long as he owns the team, and that any success we do have will be through blind luck, either by Sarver happening to hire an excellent GM, or happening to be too distracted on a given day to stop that GM from doing his job.

Sarver will never get it. The team nose-dived after the last stars that Colangelo brought in left and Sarver and his people have shown no ability to bring in enough talent to even aspire to mediocre.

Even the capable basketball men working here (Kerr, Gentry, D'Antoni, Griffin) were either run off or saw better opportunities elsewhere.
