He's had maybe 5 good games all year, he doesn't deserve any attention for playing average M******f level basketball his last 2 games.
Because signs of progress out of a 20-year old should be discounted.

When in doubt, a good rule of thumb is that Carey posted it first.
I don't think anybody's ever called me silly before. Carey's first again!

Reed didn't seem to play in the last NAS game
Very few trade suns trade rumours going around.
Played around with trade machine. Not much we can do to dump chandler or Monroe unless we get picks to take on a few more years Salary. E.g Asik or Mahimi
Some options with Cleveland:
Chandler or Monroe
Troy Daniels
For
Frye
Shumpert
Cavs 1st rounder
Zizic
Future cavs 2nd rounder ( they do have a bunch promised to other teams, so not sure when this is possible)
Quick questions:
Is this possible as the cavs have some future protected picks promised to the hawks from 2019 depanding on where they fall
The cavs get a solid big plus a shooter. Monroe gives them a different look and forces the warriors to play a legitimate big against them always. They are very thin upfront and currently an injury to Thompson would leave a giant hole. They are rarely playing frye or shumpert this year. Hate to see Daniels go but this frees up minutes for reed and we get back a 2nd round pick
For us it unclogs the front court. If chandler goes we save money next year as frye comes off the books and shumpert deal is less. I imagine shumpert would want a buy out. Worst case he become Somone for our young Sgs to go at in practice.
Zizic is a nice cheap 3rd string C and insurance if we are left thin atbhe C in the offseason
Thoughts?

I really think the Suns FO want to keep Chandler as a mentor if possible-- similar to Dudley:
"As it turns out, the Suns’ coaching staff and veteran leaders like Chandler, Jared Dudley and Greg Monroe have been counseling Chriss about his tendency to let his natural competitiveness go down the wrong road.
“That’s something Jay told me last year and this year,” Chriss said. “He doesn’t think I’ve ever played better after I got upset and got a technical. Don’t let my emotions get the best of me.”
The messages – Chandler, in particular, has been a mentor to Chriss – may be getting through. Chriss has just three technicals in 37 games, his last one coming on December 7."

Is the typical Informer McScrooge response supposed to come as a surprise to anyone? Right on time, sir. A pleasant New Year's to you. Open the windows in 2018 and take in a few rays of sunlight. There are things that glisten beyond the dark abyss.

I guess I dont see the same progress, especially relative to his expectations. He still pretty much sucks, he's got a very very long ways to go. A few flashes does nothing for me.

Watson was coaching the whole team to be "tough", and Chriss in particular to be an intimidator. It didn't work, and we ended up with techs and scuffles all the time.
It's nice to have someone coach some basketball for a change.

I'm glad that our vets are trying to mentor Chriss. He probably really needs it. And while 3 techs in 37 games is still a bit too many, it's progress at least. I am not a huge Chriss fan but I do still want to see him mature and get better if he's capable of it.

He's taken a few steps forward on defense, imo. Unfortunately it seemed like he regressed offensively. Last game he looked good on offense and defense.
Last year he was always out of position, would get beat and just stand there and watch. He's still out of position from time to time, but he's gotten better. That whole moping when things don't go his way seems to have stopped completely. That was my least favorite thing about him. 14/8/4 with good percentages, couple blocks/steals is fantastic for him and I'd be ecstatic if that's the player he becomes.

What do you mean relative to his expectations? When he was drafted, it was pretty clear that he was both a project AND a gamble. He was raw and unrefined even for a 19-year old.
Hmm, I read earlier that he wasn't eligible to sign a 2-way contract. Clearly was wrong or maybe only applied to the Suns. Anyways, good for him, I hope he finds success, but not too much, I want that heat pick to fall in the lottery.

Congrats to Jones Jr. I think he'll be able to contribute for the Heat. Rooting for the guy.

In year 2 you expect some growth, not regression. He's still a bum, a bum that came to camp after a fat lazy offseason. Not gonna get all warm and fuzzy after a guy has a couple of decent showings. I'd trade him the 1st chance I got, wouldnt think twice.

The real problem I have with Chriss is, even when he's playing well, he just isn't the kind of player I want. He doesn't rebound or defend that well, and on his best night he's still mostly just a scorer and shot chucker. I will give him credit for somewhat better defense lately, including some great blocks. But he rarely has a strong rebounding performance, and the defense is mostly poor from him overall.
I much prefer Bender's game over Chriss's. Bender needs more confidence and a lot more experience, but he's a generally solid defender. I trust him out there a lot more than Chriss to still contribute something even when he isn't scoring much or when his shot isn't falling.
Neither Bender nor Chriss seems good enough to me to justify avoiding picking a PF/C if that's the clear BPA.

I think Chriss has defended ok this year. Bender is better defending the perimeter, but Chriss is better inside. Bender does do a much better job of not fouling, but Chriss is also a much better rebounder than Bender. Chriss has even improved his passing this year. Bender's shot has been nice this year, I wish Chriss would be more consistent with his shot. In reality, if we could morph Chriss/Bender into one player, he might be pretty good. Chriss seemed much more active and agressive attacking the offensive glass tonight. He had the one put back dunk and a couple other close ones. Haven't really seen that much from him this year.
I will definitely agree with your last comment, i'm definitely not passing on a 4 because of Chriss/Bender.
