It does feel like Oubre is not playing well enough to merit another contract after his current one ends. At least, not one at the current money or higher. He feels replaceable by other SFs like Bridges.
Oubre is the most energetic starter we have. He is the only one showing intensity (besides Baynes, who we assume will go back to the bench once Ayton comes back). I agree he doesn't pass enough, and forces things, but sometimes you need his energy on the floor. Right now he is:

1st in blocks
2nd in points, steals and rebounds

I'm always of the belief that SFs/swings are a dime a dozen. Oubre certainly isn't irreplaceable but he's the least of our problems and does what he does pretty well. He can get better and more consistent, but we also haven't seen the team at full strength and he's still only 23 years old.

Getting Ayton back will help Oubre. Kelly is best as a 3rd or 4th option, not the #2 guy in the offense.

We were down 2 centers and Rubio. That is no small thing. I can’t too upset they lost. I am glad we at least gave Diallo some burn instead of sticking with Kaminsky and Saric. He’s a center and can at least compete with other trees on the boards while Ayton and Baynes gone and I think he proved that with his limited PT.

Getting Ayton back is going to benefit Kaminsky the most, imo. Kaminsky slides in as the backup PF, which is a more natural fit for him and less stress and pressure of having to play center and protecting the rim as the primary backline defender.
