THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SOMEONE SAT DOWN WITH HIM TO WATCH FILM TO TEACH HIM SOMETHING!
Arg. I just had to let that out.
I think you are misunderstanding. You can have guys sit down with him and go over the film, but the focus could be very different for Ayton. He's saying that no one is telling him about the angles he needs to be in, the level of detail may have been totally different, because someone else may have thought that was understood. Idk, I haven't been in the film room with Ayton every time, but as someone that has gone over film with players, I could see how that happens.
I get what you are saying. But remember that 30 minute interview in the 'off-season' about his defensive improvement over year one? You could tell that he had people teaching him from film the way he was breaking it down.
You just can't trust things that come out of his mouth.

Yeah, I agree that you can't trust what he says. I think Paul was talking to him about the offensive side this time, as opposed to other times where they were working with him on defense, no?

That Tweet is garbage. For some reason, it is trimming out the entirety of the quote. The important part they neglected in the Tweet I've bolded below.
“Nobody in the NBA has really sat down with me player-to-player and really tried to teach me,” Ayton said. “I feel so honored and blessed, I have a future Hall-of-Famer in Chris Paul just trying to teach me, willing to teach me, reminding me of [film sessions].
He's definitely had coaches, etc., that have sat down with him and gone over film and tried to teach things to him. He's talking about player-to-player.
I do take issue with him talking about being aggressive and Domin-Ayton, blah blah blah. He's looked like complete ass two of the three preseason games and being aggressive is less than 50% of his time spent on the court. That's one of the last words I'd use to describe him.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

You can't coach "want" or effort. Can't get that from gametape. I can listen and hear Hendrix all day long, doesn't mean I can go out and play Purple Haze on my guitar.

I think we all, including me, forget what we were like at 22 years young. I was smoking weed regularly and getting drunk beyond comprehension while chasing as much tail as I possibly could, blowing what little money I made working at Best Buy and putting the rest on credit cards.

That’s the one thing I can do.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

Yes. I think it’s called testosterone.

Were you the one that got some type of insurance settlement and wanted to spend it on a Range Rover?

Was there someone on .net that was in that situation? Definitely wasn't me. I've driven pretty modest vehicles (Camry, Rav4) and now have a Tacoma. Never really been into overpriced vehicles, though we are eyeing a used Tesla once the Tacoma is paid off.

Yeah, there was. I just can't remember who it was. I think Laz and I said, take the money to put it in the bank and retire 5 years sooner with well over a million extra dollars.
So what’s our guesses on the opening night rotation?
I think we start
CP3, Booker, Bridges, Crowder, Ayton
Cam and Saric are locks off the bench if healthy.
I think the big questions are if we go point Book when Paul sits. If we don’t, Payne will need to be in the rotation. Think Galloway needs to be as well. He’s our best shooter.
Do we throw Smith or Jones out there or do we go small in the 2nd unit? If we’re going to play 3 or 4 of our bench guards, I just don’t see time for Smith/Jones.
I think one or two of Carter, Payne, Gallo will see minutes and a third will be left out. Monty maybe goes with Payne and Carter, then brings Gallo or Moore in for situational offense/shooting if the other guys don't have it. I don't know if those 3 can be effective playing only 12 minutes. It's hard for guys to get into a rhythm. It might even be 32 combined and Johnson seeing a bit more minutes. Jones and Stix might need some time too with bigger lineups.

I just don’t see how we can justify keeping Galloway out of the rotation. He was our best bench guard in the preseason. Carter was probably 2nd, but then you have no backup pg. That can work if you stagger Book/CP3, but I don’t think the plan is to do that. We’ll need someone to play a few minutes at backup pg.
Think it does seem like Moore will start the season out of the rotation.
Moore definitely seems the odd man out right now, but that could change at a moment's notice if he comes in and gets hot for a few games. If Payne, Carter and Cam are doing their thing, we shouldn't need Gallo all that much. If Payne starts slipping and Monty goes with PointBook for some stretches, then Gallo is probably back in the mix.
We may have skewed too far with the undersized SGs and created some imbalance. Still concerned we're missing a body at the 4/5 and if Payne loses his footing we're looking at 3 undersized SGs in Carter, Gallo and Moore with a bit too much PointBook for my liking.
