Except win.Superbone wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 12:04 amIf we play the Blazers in the playoffs, we're going to need a new defensive scheme against Lillard. That's for sure. He did everything he wanted. And I mean everything.bajanguy008 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 10:16 pmThat 4th quarter was stress
Yikes
Our team D to start the 4th was so bad. Dame got to iso against Craig with no help and we didn't rotate to force him to pass not once in the first 2mins
Ya let Dame get a quick 7-9pts and good luck expecting him to cool off especially in the 4th
I think I would have done the same thing in his position. In real time, I didn't think he got fouled and was mad that they took the putback opportunity away from Bridges. But if you win that challenge, it's a jump ball and realistically probably a win for the Blazers. So I didn't think it was a bad move on his part.MightyMoog wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 7:26 amI’m surprised no one is mentioning the coaching snafu by Stotts. By challenging that last call they used their final timeout. Had they not done that. They’d have had a chance to set up a half court play with 2.whatever on the clock.
Ya that’s how I feel as well. Hard to not challenge there...if it’s overturned, and until that one angle showed up, it looked like it would be, it’s a win for Portland. They challenged very quick though...I wonder if Stotts asked Powell if he fouled him or not.wpmiller42 wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 7:33 amI think I would have done the same thing in his position. The foul should have been called before the ball was even inbounded. Booker was being held the whole time.Split T wrote:Ya that’s how I feel as well. The way the rules are though, it’s highly unlikely to be overturned. Regardless, if Powell felt he fouled or not. The only way it would be overturned, is if he had not touched him at all, and he should’ve known that he had, even if he felt that it wasn’t a foul. It’s a typical playing not to lose, then trying to win type of scenario. The only justification I could think of, is that they thought there was only .9 on the clock. Which was what it originally read before the replay. I think having last possession in today’s NBA is a huge advantage.Split T wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 8:06 amYa that’s how I feel as well. Right, I think seeing the replay makes it seem like a bad decision. And end result makes it a bad decision...but it was also just a very quick decision and I don’t think Stotts had the time. When it was challenged, I was sure it would be overturned...then I saw the angle that showed the foul. So hard to fault Stotts, my initial reaction would have been to challenge as well.MightyMoog wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 9:09 amThe way the rules are though, it’s highly unlikely to be overturned. They've been a lot more fun to watch, too.The Bobster wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 6:48 amPayne as a Suns - 66 GP, 48.2 FG%, 44.9 3P%, 88.5 FT%, 2.6 Reb, 3.5 Ast, 8.5 Pts
The Suns are 57-21 since signing Payne.
Without the challenge it would have stayed at 0.9 too, right? I don't think they would have reviewed the clock. But still that's enough time if you have a timeout left. I thought it was a bad mistake and that there was no way they could overturn it--that's a judgment call made by the official in real time.MightyMoog wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 9:09 amThe way the rules are though, it’s highly unlikely to be overturned.
