If you draft him, what's he going to do for four years?
Sounds like they may have looked at making a deal for a second first round pick to get him, but maybe he went before the picks they targeted to trade for.

We still could have just drafted him. He wouldn’t have been the first player initially unhappy with his team who comes around. Mikal is a prime example.

Yea that's the worst case scenario but it'll be a good opportunity for the young guys to prove it's not all CP. He'll also get some rest and be ready for the playoffs.

When did the fracture even occur?

By my count, we're exactly 8 weeks out from the first games of round 1, so I hope he gets in at least 2-3 games before the season ends. A fluke hand injury one game before the All-Star break against one of the worst teams in the league is very Chris Paul.
What a run to start the season, and surely they will lose at least double the number of games they otherwise would've with Paul healthy.
I expect Booker's scoring to decrease as he'll try to take on more facilitating responsibilities. We're going to see just how much of steal Aaron Holiday really is or isn't in the next two months as well.
But Ayton is the guy who really needs to consistently replace a chunk of Paul's offensive output. He has to take advantage of the early looks I'm sure he'll start getting as long as he's sprinting into the right positions and playing with force.

It was the on the play that got him so pissed off that he seemingly (in retrospect) knew he was badly injured and intentionally got ejected.

We get a little sneak peak of what a post CP3 suns team looks like. Booker will have a shot to solidify an all-nba spot if he keeps us atop the west.
Honestly will be good to see how much of an offensive load Bridges and Ayton can shoulder. Payne and Holiday get to show off too. Think we might see a huge Booker finish. Like 30/7/5 post all-star.
24 games left…I was hoping for like 20-4 to get to 68 wins, but I’ll take 17-7 and 65 wins. Or at the least 15-9 for 63 wins and a franchise record. Any of those keeps us the 1 seed I believe.

Was that the play where he tried to throw that alley-oop?

Maybe? All the clips I find are focused on him getting ejected and we don't really get a good look at it. His hand collided with Jae'Sean Tate's(?) hand as he released a pass.

I don’t think we need to do anything. Payne, Holiday, and Payton can handle it. Maybe some Booker at PG minutes if we need to in closing time.
