Don’t know how reliable this guy is
Well, he's got "scoop" right in his name. It's not like he's flexing or anything.

Nothing important, updates on the injured players status. Covered by other posts later

The bar is really low when it comes to our second unit, so I would be ok with Melo. But it all comes back to what is happening on the Crowder front. If a 1 for 2 deal is on the table for Crowder, then there isn't room for Melo.
I think we don't have enough big bodies to throw at people, even for limited minutes. I am more talking about the non-centers. Craig and Cam are too small/light to not get bumped around by Lebron or even guys like Luka. I am not saying Melo will be a good defender for us, but you just can't compete without similar size/weight/length.

I agree we are ill-equipped at the 4, but I don't think Melo addresses that. I think Melo only helps us have a little more offense off the bench.

Isn't that what we need most?

Maybe. But also think we need a better/different option at the 4. Both are really important.

Here’s a non sequitur question watching those practice videos. How many basketballs do we think an NBA team owns? I assume they don’t have to pay for them and the company with the official ball must supply them to teams for free, or else it’d be quite the expense to go from Spaulding to Wilson for instance?

Oh, I missed that Saric was away from the team for the birth of his son.

I don't really understand. We are essentially down 2 spots with Crowder. We have noticeable weaknesses at the guard and PF positions. Either picking up a player of waivers (nothing too intriguing) or a trade is coming. Four of the first six games are against playoff teams and one against a hungry Rockets team. Choosing to start the season with both spots unfilled seems kinda foolish IMO.

None of the guys that were waived are any good. Losing absolutely nothing here.

Would also have to use up the last roster spot for 1 of them. Better options out there.

Yeah, you need an open spot for flexibility in trades and to go shopping in the waiver market. I agree with the previous posts: none of those guys are worth using the final roster spot.
However, I think TLC and Ish are better than Okogie, but yet Okogie is the one we have given the full time roster spot to.
I really hate that we only have one open roster spot but such a talent deficit.

We really loaded up on 11th/12th men…not what I’d call a great strategy

That's my impression.
Aside from Landale (a good find) and Saric (returning from missing all of last season), none of the new players move the needle.
Sure, Washington scored 31, but he also had 11 turnovers.
His effort differs little from big games deep bench players have in the final game of a bad season, when nothing matters.

I would like to see Washington in more of a 2-guard role. I think he’s out of position as a pg. Should have played him with Payne or Paul…even next to Booker would’ve worked.

Probably on target with that assessment.
I'd just like to see how he plays when the games count before going all in.
Have my doubts on how much Phoenix can rely on Ish or Craig.
Craig's shot is MIA, and he seems not to be the same guy he was in the first stretch with Phoenix.
Ish is a wide body, but he's limited.
It seems the coaching staff expects him to morph into P.J. Tucker, but that hasn't happened ...
