Half of our core is a 35-year old (almost 36 by next playoffs!) declining player who hasn’t been able to shoot in the playoffs the last 2 years? We’re going to be in huge trouble.

Book, KD and Jock are the only ones I'm convinced of at the moment.

I'll take Okogie back on a good deal as a backup in the hopes of continued improvement. I'll take back DLee as a minimum bench/lockerroom guy. Same with Biz.

Payne has proven too unreliable but he's an ending contract so maybe he can stick around. Ross and Warren are out. They're not right for this team and we need younger, more athletic defenders in their place.

Craig is replaceable and redundant with Okogie. Shamet has to go. He's just unplayable but he's Monty's safety net and gets minutes to detriment of the team. Starting Shamet was a major mistake and clear indication Monty is blinded by favorites at times.

DA has to go. If you think there's some 20/10 Shaq-like monster hiding in him that Monty's failed to bring out, cool. But it ain't happening in Phoenix and I'm sure, just like last year, guys are tired of having to drag him up to play hard at this point in the season. Book and KD played better with "lesser" talents like Jock and Biz because they can finish around the basket and those are the bigs we need right now.

That’s pretty hilarious talking about 20 and 10 when he averaged 18 and 10. So he just needs one more basket per game and everything would be rainbows and butterflies?

I'm broadly on the same page

Keep

Book
KD (I could be persuaded to part with him if the offer was good)
Okogie
Landale? ( I think we are maybe looking through rose tinted spectacles as he was barely getting minutes before the Denver series)

Bring back on the cheap if we can't find anything better
Warren
Biz
Bazely (I'm intrigued by what he could do given the chance)

Lose
DA
CP3
Craig
Shamet
Payne
Ross
Lee
Ish

But who would even want him at this point? He can’t be a starting point guard on a championship level team, so no contenders are trading for him. At this stage in his career, he’ll only be interested in playing for potential contenders, so a trade at this point is probably to a team who just wants to opt out if his contract, stretch his remaining money so they can have even more cap space or be out of the luxury tax so he then he can choose where he wants to sign after he is released.

I could see him staying if we restructure his deal so it’s not freaking 30 million but is that even allowed in the CBA?

I think the most likely outcome here is he just retires.

Maybe we help GS save some money and send him there for Jordan Poole?

Or for Draymond, but that doesn’t really save them a ton as Draymond is expiring.

I love that all these media outlets already have our offseason plans well in hand...

What's the over/under on the amount of time before the "KD will request out if we don't pursue friend Kyrie..." and the, "Booker frustrated and considering future..." random hot takes start making the rounds on twitter?

I'm not believing anything until the exit interviews are over and done with.

Kyrie scares me, but honestly the alternatives scare me more. I’d be all on board with an Ayton for Kyrie trade.

It's such a weird mix of emotions/thoughts right now. I loved what we were doing with our young core and despite the failures in the playoffs I felt we were only a player or two away from winning the whole thing.

To have landed KD and to have suddenly flipped to a win at all costs mentality even if that meant sacrificing much of what had been good about the franchise over the past few years was jarring. I think the fact that it blew up in our face and now leaves us open to the possibility of the team becoming a circus with the likes of Kyrie and Westbrook being linked with us only makes things worse. I really hope we don't go down that route!

On the flip side, I'm still glad we got KD........

I’d pull Ayton for Poole if we could also get Looney in the deal.

Feel like Poole is going to be dangled to get a star type player.

Maybe KAT?

Feel like Wiggins could be an option for a CP trade? GWS get his contact off the books with Klay and Draymond soon to be expiring, try to nab a big fish or two in free agency next season? Idk lol

Or let’s gut the Lakers roster by sending CP3 and Ayton for Sign and trades for Reeves, Vanderbilt, and Russell.

Dame requests a trade to the Suns and blazers abide because of all he’s done for them and because he never ran from the grind.

Blazers: CP(they waive and stretch his remaining contract), Josh Green, 10th pick from Mavs, 5 seconds from Suns

Mavs: Ayton and Shamet

Suns: Lillard, Kleber, Bertans, McGee.

Book-Lillard- KD. We winning championship with that trio. RIP Ishbia’s wallet tho.

My plan was to always marry Margot Robbie at the deadline, just didn’t work out. Per my conversations, time for me to try to get that part done this offseason. 😤

Anya Taylor-Joy is also a possibility according to sources.

Yeah, me too. I don’t like it but it is what it is.

What would a deal like that look like tho? We’d get hard capped too, no?
