Right. He was once thought of a hybrid player who could play a number of positions.
He did, poorly.

Haha!
Wasn't there another John Williams (not of the hot rod or composer variety) who could also play a multitude of positions.
IIRC, he had weight issues or something.

John Sam Williams played collegiately for LSU, and was drafted by the Washington Bullets in 1986. When drafted, he was about 235 at around 6-9. He’d balloon to about three bills later in his career. It was a shame, because he was a great passer with a soft shot and a nice feel for the game. Later in his career he became known as “Hot Plate” Williams …
More on Williams ...

Wow, sounded as if he was a more talented Oliver Miller...?
Thanks for the info, LL - I had several basketball scouting books as a kid, and occasionally some of those scouting reports will float in one ear and out the other...

Williams was a gifted offensive player. Miller had the more complete game.
Ollie's problem was he thought he was a larger version of Charles Barkley and could get away with all sort of stuff. Too bad, as he could have had a very good career, instead of being an overused punchline ...

Tell me about it. Just this week you saying "Kevin Love is the next Anthony Randolph" caused 3 long-time posters to quit.
Speaking of Randolph, he is a free agent...
For a good reason.
It takes a long time to make a decision when there are 30 teams competing for your services.

I think you could probably at least scratch the team that just waived him.

There's a thread on realgm about possible Bledsoe s+t scenarios. Some Bucks fans are discussing a package and have been told by Suns fans that they only thing Phoenix would want from Milwaukee is Parker/Antetokounmpo.
One Bucks fan answered that in order to get the Freak the Suns would have to put more than Bledsoe on the table. He said Bledsoe+IT3+Green+2picks.
I'd do that trade in a heartbeat.

That trade is impossible. Thomas can't be traded until December 15.
I think dealing Bledsoe, the Morris Twins, Goodwin, and a 2015 1st rounder for Antetokoumnpo, Ilyasova, Mayo, 2nd round pick and the draft rights Damien Inglis is more than fair.

I know it's not doable right now. I was speaking just from a value standpoint. As in they think they are raping us but I don't care and believe that's actually a steal for the Suns.

Oh, I know you know. I'm just wondering if they know.

I'd counter with
Freak+Ilyasova+Zaza
for
Bledsoe, Morrii, 1stR. Two picks if absolutely forced.

Interesting counter. They might balk at including Zaza because of Sanders various issues; they'll need Pachulia as a fail safe. If Pachulia gets thrown in, you may have to put Alex Len in the deal. I don't think you can pull Goodwin from the deal AND refuse to take Mayo.
I really think they would insist on Mayo being included. He was abysmal last year and they still are on the hook for this season and the next. If they're losing Giannis, they'll need a sweetener, and I think it may have to be Mayo.

I don't think I like any of those trades. Greek Freak is a nice prospect, but literally every guy you have us including is a known valuable asset who contributed to our team last year. Bledsoe, IT3 (who we just signed), Green, and picks? That is giving up a TON of stuff. Also, there's no way we deal Isaiah Thomas whose contract doesn't even have dry ink on it yet.

Yeah, there's no way I would give up all of that. I didn't get into the merits of that deal because it literally is not possible.

At the same time, Giannis, IMO, is a championship cornerstone. You get him if you can (within a reasonable offer). And it's really now, when he's coming off averaging just 6 points on 41% shooting, or in 7 years.

I don't care, Mori. If you can acquire the Freak without giving up your best player in the process, you do it.

I do not think he is attainable.

He shouldn't be. But the Bucks have been one of the worst run franchises, and you don't lose anything for asking, right? Who knows if you can convince them that they should redistribute their talent with Parker on board. How about this stud PG instead of another forward hehehe.
