He probably expected the red carpet treatment after giving up a few hundred grand last year to accommodate PJ.

Signed a 2 year deal last year with a paycut on the promise Morey would give him a full extension this offseason and Morey allegedly reneged. I think Harden was supposed to opt out this year and get the new deal but Morey said no deal, so Harden opted in and requested a trade.

From what I've read he took a paycut under the impression he'd get a longterm extension, and then opted in because Morey said he'd trade him. Morey has done neither. Never thought I'd side with Harden, but here we are.

I'm sure that Morey is never going to admit to that. Not saying it didn't happen, but I'm almost certain that Morey made sure that it's not on paper and no other witnesses heard these promises.

I wonder action the NBA could/would take if Morey did get Harden to take less money on a promise for a new deal. Is that against the CBA or just kind of a handshake thing based on the trust of both parties? Does that PA have any case for intervention? If there's no evidence, Morey can just chalk it up to Harden trying to talk his way out of Philly.

Also, and without getting overly political here, it's being mentioned that Harden said this specifically to the Chinese media because of Morey's previous remarks. So Harden's really sticking it to Morey there.

If he's a very good liar, that's probably true. Although, I'd think Harden's agent at least was a witness.

You could be right. Idk, I wasn't there. It was just opinion on how this is going to go.
