I'm sorry I ever bought one of his pillows.
Why did you do that? Impressed by the infomercial?
Like I said, many, many years ago. Before Trump running for office was a thing. I’ve always been on the quest for the perfect pillow. That wasn’t it. If I remember right, I got my money back. Pretty sure it had a guarantee.
Even if it was before Trump, buying a crappy pillow because of an infomercial seems kinda dumb. Glad you got your money back.
How do you know it’s crappy until you try it? Your logic doesn’t make any sense to me.

The fact that it’s sold by infomercial is a pretty good clue.

I see. You’re making an assumption. All items sold via infomercial are bad.

Yeah. That’s why they use infomercials.

Seriously, you never heard the virtues of the product touted by anyone who wasn’t selling it, and that was reason enough to buy it?

Another assumption. This is a ridiculous conversation. I will end my part of it here.

I have some magic beans…. Anyone? Jk

In bones defense they’ve been running commercials for years and if a company was able to keep up with paying for that kind of advertisement they’d probably be decent. Pepsi and coke still run commercials constantly and people still buy that shit even though it’s poison to your body.

The GOP/Trump’s pit bull guard dog is now Speaker of the House. Just when you thought they couldn’t get any worse.

Cheney amps up Jordan criticism: GOP will lose House and ‘deserve’ it
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4254 ... e-deserve/
Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) doubled down Friday on her criticism of Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), saying if he becomes Speaker, Republicans will lose control of the House in the next election — and rightly so.
“If Rs nominate Jordan to be Speaker, they will be abandoning the Constitution. They’ll lose the House majority and they’ll deserve to,” Cheney wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

I just want to clarify that Jim Jordan is not the Speaker of the House. He is the GOP's choice of a *nominee* to be Speaker of the House. He would still need to be voted in by Congress, and he has not done so yet.

There is still hope. I take that back. There is no hope.

This shit is wild, they'll nominate anyone the tomato screams about.

This Speaker situation shows both the strength and the weakness of Trump and the MAGA wing of the GOP. Trump endorses Jim Jordan, but then the GOP House does their secret vote and instead selects Scalise, showing that they don't all just do exactly what Trump wants. But then there are enough MAGA House holdouts that Scalise can't actually get the majority of votes he needs in order to win the actual speakership, so he steps down and then Jordan is nominated after all. But Jordan also likely doesn't have the votes to actually get approved, so we're stuck.

This would be nice, but the GOP would never go for it. Their entire governing philosophy these days revolves around extorting concessions out of the Dems every time the debt limit comes up or every time they want to vote on anything:

Yea... the whole concession for things is what's frustrating more than anything instead of just doing what's best for the people. The political games have gotten old.

It sounds like that plan would be to copy the Cons and extort them. I guess that’s what Washington is all about. They would never go for this. A good portion of the Cons love the chaos and have no desire for the country to run smoothly.

True… as long as they’re creating chaos on Washington no one will notice the other bs they’re getting away with. Washington’s version of pointing and telling you to look over there and then smacking you with the other hand.

Rumor has it that they're going to vote on Jordan today, and that he may have the votes he needs to get confirmed as Speaker. That would represent a caving by the "moderate" Republicans, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Trumps biggest defender who says the election was stolen might be the next Speaker of the House? The same guy who defended Trump when he was caught extorting Ukraine. The same guy who wants to investigate the investigators investigating Trump. The same guy who wants to subpoena everyone but refuses to comply with his own subpoena. He would be an extension of Trump and a Maga leader of the House.

Scary? Ya!
