INFORMER wrote:But Indy, look at the deals being handed out now. Knight is being paid peanuts! Plus he has so much potential as a great sixth man!
Clearly you aren't calling me out, but I will respond. It doesn't matter what we are paying Knight. What I care about is that we are playing Knight. He doesn't help us win, or make his team better. That means you either have him as a 9th/10th man, or you cut bait. That is true if he were making 20M/year, 14/year or 1M/year.

He will play significant minutes or get traded. He is not riding the pine. Guarenteed.

'Guaranteed'
Sorry, had to point that out because I have such a hard time with that word for some reason.

I wonder if Milwaukee would go for a deal built around swapping Bledsoe for Khris Middleton.

I'd consider it. He's big enough and long enough to start along Booker @ SF. I just don't like having Knight as the starting PG. I prefer Bledsoe as of now and we all know they aren't swapping Knight for Middleton.

But he was Almost an All-Star in Milwaukee!

I don't think the Bucks trade Middleton for Bledsoe. Perhaps if he wasn't injuried but not with his history. If we want to trade Bledsoe we need to be ready to take a hit in value (which is probably one of the main reasons as to why he is still a Sun). Middleton is actually more in demand since he is one of the very few wings who plays two ways and hits threes.

If we trade Bledsoe, don't we need to get a PG back in the trade?

We do? We have Ulis and Knight. If I had my way, I'd run things mainly through Booker. He can share the ball with Ulis and the imp can lead a second unit with Knight as gunner (if he is kept). And there is always another draft in case we are in a spot where you are forced to select a can't miss guard (we'll see about this and Dunn).

The Suns avoided a difficult decision on guard John Jenkins' status by delaying his contract guarantee date until October.
Jenkins' $1.05 million 2016-17 salary was going to become guaranteed Monday if he was not waived but the Suns now plan to bring Jenkins, 25, to training camp in Flagstaff. Jenkins has sat courtside for each of the Suns' NBA Summer League games in Las Vegas.
The Suns backcourt is deep now that Leandro Barbosa has agreed to terms to join Eric Bledsoe, Devin Booker, Archie Goodwin, Brandon Knight and Jenkins. The Suns also have considered bringing back Ronnie Price.
The Suns claimed Jenkins off waivers in February after Dallas let him go in his fourth season. Jenkins played 22 games for Phoenix, averaging 5.0 points in 13.0 minutes per game with 40.6 percent 3-point shooting (13 for 32).

Thanks, Carey.
I guess the only way that date gets moved is if the Suns tell him they are going to waive him now if they have to.
McD, probably: "We want to keep our options open. So we can waive you now, or extend the guarantee date for a couple of months."

Oh jeez, Sportsrageous has another rumor linking the Suns to a trade for Westbrook. This time it's Bledsoe and Booker for Westbrook, but it has to have assurances that Westbrook would resign with the Suns. http://www.sportsrageous.com/nba/nba-ru ... to-proceed

The only assurance he could give us would be the same kind Carlos Boozer gave the Cavs. Just sayin'.

Agreed, which really points to this being another made up rumor for clicks.

I think that is the same "rumor" that was floating around last week.

Last week it was Bledsoe, Bender and a pick. I don't think that would even gave been legal.

Easy to report this since there is no chance (according sources) that Westbrook will renegotiate or commit to anything. Not going to happen and they know it.

Not true. This is a one time situation because of the cap rise, but he could negotiate for $8M more this year by adding on a 1+1 which would give us Wesbrook for 2 years at a max deal. Then in 2 years could sign a $200M deal.
That said, I still wouldn't want to trade Bledsoe & Booker for 2 years of Westbrook.
