Darius Bazley looked good in the combine games, but then I found out he is represented by Klutch. Pass.

We’ve had issues with Klutch in the past, but that was all McD..James Jones is buddies with Lebron, I’m sure he’ll be just fine with Klutch.

I don't know, man. They don't exactly have a history of doing right by their clients. I guess we'll see how things play out for the young guy. I enjoyed watching DB buck the trend and go with an "internship." Though most internships don't pay you a cool $1M. He looks like he can play and he did put on the weight this year which is what he wanted to do. I don't know what we'd do with another SF but I could see a scenario where we take one and trade a couple of our other ones for other needs.

What clients have they not done right by? They seem to have gotten a lot of guys overpaid actually. They bundled the AD situation a bit, but it’s fixable.
As for Bazely, he’s a 2nd round prospect and skipped college. I wouldn’t expect him to play any rotation minutes next year, so I wouldn’t worry about position. Even still, I think he’s a PF. 6’9 with a 7’0 wingspan and a 8’11 standing reach. Those are all PF measurements. Needs to get stronger, but that’s why we develop him a bit in the g league before putting him in the rotation.

Maybe...but he didn’t have rich Paul when he turned down that 4/70 deal. He did switch to rich Paul right before he signed the qualifying offer. Was the 4/70 still on the table? Maybe, who knows.

KCP and AD as well.

KCP hasn’t gotten a long term deal, but he’s been signing way over market 1 year deals the last couple years. He’s been fine.

Other Klutch clients:
John Wall - Overpaid
Eric Bledsoe - Overpaid
Tristan Thompson - Overpaid
JR Smith - Overpaid
KCP - Overpaid
Draymond - Good contract
Lebron - He’s fine
Then he’s got a few mid level guys(Morris brothers, Cory Joseph, Kosta Koufous...all are properly paid)
Then a bunch of guys still in rookie deals...so tbd.
So 2 guys he’s maybe not done right by.
AD - And he’s still gonna get paid...just failed to force his way to LA(still think he ends up there this summer though)
Nerlens - And he wasn’t even the agent when he turned down the big deal.
Seems to me like he’s more likely to get his guys Overpaid.

The only way to do business with Klutch is to overpay players who are a bad fit for the team. A few teams with very strong front offices have been able to take just one guy, but I don't get the impression that Jones is that strong a negotiator.

I guess this is neither here nor there but unless you're a superstar you're basically overpaid. That's how the system is set up due to rookie salary deals and such.

I don't think it's good business practice to not deal with an agency because our front office is overmatched as negotiators. Isn't that what we're conceding here?
Klutch is trying to do best by their clients. Our management team is (hopefully) acting with the short and long term interest of the franchise in mind. Sometimes feelings get hurt in these negotiations. Let's not be dogmatic or absolutist about dealing with a major agency.

Exactly! Klutch is a huge agency, we’re taking ourselves out of the running of a lot of good basketball players if we refuse to deal with them.

That is literally their primary job. They should be fighting for their clients.

As much as I hated the Bledsoe negotiations, I'd have to agree. We can't just disregard Klutch. We have to work with whichever players are best for our team no matter who represents them. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out.

Idk what to think about Gambo reporting that he thinks the Suns will take a PG with the 6th pick if Garland or White are available with White as their favorite. Then he thinks that Joseph will be the target as the vet PG and they will also dump Melton and Okobo. I'm not a fan of these moves and I think there are better options.
Could it work out? Sure I guess it could.
Do I think it will work out? I think the odds are less than other moves.

I'm so underwhelmed by Coby White. He just screams BACKUP to me. He's got good size, but does he have one plus skill? I'd much rather roll the dice on Garland, who's a high-level shooter from day 1.
I hate this draft.

I kind of feel the same way. I just think there will be much better PGs next year. Feels like a McD move to me(picking a crap position in the draft because it's a need).

Did he say this on the radio? Is he just guessing or going off some kind of info?
I’m also not a big Coby White fan. He’s not bad, but like Shabazz said...just feels like a backup.
