Something like this:
Orlando gets: Grayson Allen
Portland gets: Nurk, Anthony, 2 1sts(from us), 2 2nds(from Orlando)
Phoenix gets: Avdijja and Williams
Are we allowed to do that? I thought we are not allowed to combine multiple players into a trade because we are over the 2nd apron. Have I misunderstood the rule?
Ya it’s allowed…you can’t combine salaries to trade for a player with a bigger salary, but Grayson for Avdijja and Nurk for Williams both work as separate trades, so they also can work as a joined trade. Could easily just split the trade into two trades as well. I do think it’s interesting that Grayson and Avdijja have the exact same salary.

I think that's a lot for Avdija and Williams, who can't seem to stay on the court.

This is talking about a potential Beal for Levine swap.

Levine is better player than Beal. Not significantly better but at least a tier better imo mainly because he’s a freakish athlete and will actually put pressure on the rim with balls in your face Dunks. He has a terrible reputation right now a selfish empty calorie player that doesn’t actually help you win with a terrible contract no one wants, which is why this trade could even happen. They can’t move his contract so if you’re stuck with it might as well be stuck with something similar and get extra picks.
Still only 29 tho and seems to be much more reliable health wise these days. It’s still the same problems with Beal but I have higher hopes that he, Book and KD can figure it out.
Honestly, if this our only option, I’d do it only because it gets us off Beal’s no trade clause contract. Beal will only get worst, so if Butler thing is not happening, just do it and not look back.
No way Tyus can start if this trade happens, don’t care about promises. Book-Levine-Dunn-KD-Richards is a good lineup. Trade Nurk for a wing or another center, maybe both?

Allen is worth a 1stR. ORL 2025 should be on the table for him, especially if they are dumping Anthony (who by the way I wouldn't mind taking under the right scenario).
Avdija and Williams might have been attainable with the '31 1stR, but I don't believe would value this "quantity over quality" enough to move Avdija. They are also sensitive to bad money.
But yeah, Deni Avdija would be great for us, and RWIII's health is a gamble that can be justified.

Ya I wouldn’t do LaVine…I wonder if we’re just trying to pressure the other teams to accept by making them think we’ll just leave them out and take LaVine ourselves if they don’t take the deal.
I'd consider the MIL scenario if it was/is real. Let them have Beal, we can take Mids and Portis. I know Middleton's ankle is shot, but contract is not as huge and expires on 2026. Portis would fit extremely well. And both played under Bud. Involve DET and have MIL and PHX send each a 2ndR for taking Connaughton and AJ Johnson.

I like LaVine but not on this team. I don’t want to make a trade just to make a trade. We need to start thinking about building a proper team, not collecting names.

Is Anthony a dump? I thought about having Orlando send a 1st, but wasn’t sure if they’d be willing. If you could get Orlando to give up a 1st I think it makes it more likely. Portland gave up 2 1sts for Avdijja, so not sure they’d be excited to move him for just 2 1sts and have to take on Nurk.
I like the move because Avdijja is a young wing with promise. He has size, can defend a bit…has some shooting potential and can play with the ball a bit. If we have to tear it down, I’m not going to be upset that we sent a first or two out for him. He can be apart of the rebuild. He and Dunn together at the 3/4 is interesting. You’d need 1 or both to shoot, but there’s some promise.
Robert Williams can’t stay healthy, but I think having Richards makes it easier to take a swing on him. He’s not a true drop style 5, but if you pair him with KD, I think you have a lot of defensive versatility.
Anyways, I think it’s a decent move that balances between competing now without sacrificing the future. I’d hate to lose Grayson, but no way to make it work salary wise without him. If we could include Beal instead(even with another 1st), I’d gladly do that. Have to look to see what contracts we’d need to take back.

Portland just gave up 2 1sts for Avdijja, so I don’t think you’re getting him for less.

Yeah, I'd consider Anthony questionably money so leaning towards a dump, or in any case neutral at best. That's why I said ORL needs to add their 2025 1stR, if they want a sniper they desperately need.
But from POR's perspective, even if you put 3 1stR on the table, they just used two and a couple of 2ndRs to acquire Avdija, so in this scenario they are basically on top by one low variance 1stR, which wouldn't be enough to me in order to dump the young talented forward you described. And then you need to consider that they are giving up RWIII (who surely holds some kind of value in their eyes) while swallowing Nurkic.

If we could find multi positional players and young prospects for the Heat, why wouldn’t we just keep them for ourselves?

This. But also, Ishbia bends the knee to King Durant.

Not shooting the messenger and I appreciate when folks post trade ideas. But if we give up Grayson Allen -and- two 1sts and this is all we get back, I will be disappointed. I would rather not make that trade.

Yeahhh... I don't think Deni is even an upgrade to Allen. Lateral move at best.

On 2k their ratings may be similar and in this modern game where outside shooting is super important they may be similar value if not slightly skewed towards Allen in a vacuum. But make no mistake, Avdija is a far better fit for the Suns who need size defense and playmaking.

Fit sure, but at the expense of Allen and firsts, doesn't do it for me personally.

I agree that the value isn’t so far apart that we’d have to attach multiple firsts to make it happen. I think the point is the blazers aren’t desperate to move him and in the scenarios cooked up we are moving on from Nurk too. But yeah it’s an upgrade but it feels like an overpay.
