This signing isn't bad but it's bizarre. We are now a team with all wings and very little playmaking or inside scoring.

If the Suns seriously think Knight can become a starter PG then idk what to tell them.

LOVE the 1-yead deal.
What are they doing on Jefferson Street? I don't get this signing at all. We have enough wings, why bring another in and steal minutes from our youth? Especially considering we gave up our treasured Heat pick for said youth.
Win now! We're going all-in on a 40-win season. Plus the mentoring. THE MENTORING!!!
Damn near 40 million is going to be tied up in mentoring this year. SMH.

This is why it is counterproductive to put your GM on the hotseat. Either fire him or be patient. But only smart owners think that way. Only a dumb owner has the replacement and incumbent working together, and only a dumb owner would watch his GM flush a 1st round draft pick and $15 million in cap space down the toilet while we get the sequel to Point Guardians of the Galaxy: The Wings Edition.

The Ariza deal is a 1-year deal. The trade for Bridges is about the next 4+ years.
I understand that. He's not going to play much this year with the jammed up roster at the wing position. McD is showing he has no real plan for building this roster. He thinks it's his fantasy basketball team.

What hasn't been discussed is how much this is going to hurt the Rockets. It's going to have a negative effect on them.

Ayton will have the inside scoring covered. Jackson also is adept at getting to the basket. We should be ok on that front.

First, I don't think we needed to use all the cap space on signing one guy. I would have preferred to use it on a few low cost guys, like an Anthony Tolliver. I would have looked to use the space to facilitate a trade or two, and then also keep some cap room for an in-season deal.
Wait. So you would have rather spent the money on multiple players who would crowd the roster even more while moving the needle less?

Anthony Tolliver! Lol

I’d rather just leave an empty seat than have that guy take up a spot.

To be fair to McDonough and Sarver, I believe they are feeling heat from Booker's camp.

No, you just misunderstand the plan. He doesn't want to be over-reliant on rookies. That doesn't end well. We have all seen that. Bridges is still going to play. This gives him a season to play and develop without being depended on to win. Then he can step into a starter's role next year.

I know, silly me, liking 43% 3-Point shooting from a stretch 4.

While you would still be complaining about "bad moves" even if we were throwing a championship parade.

Ryan hasn't given much reason to be positive over.

He prefers to bring in undrafted FAs Thiz Pinson and Jartavius McKinnon as our starting PFs of the future.

If it’s a trendy player, he ain’t about it. Has to be a player nobody else in the league values.

Come on man, this is a good move. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

The biggest problem with last year was being forced to play the young guys because we had nobody else. This is great. A mentor that can actually play and will push the young guys for minutes for a year.

I am so happy we didn’t overspend on a multiyear deal for a mediocre player like Jabari or Aaron Gordon. Now that would have been a franchise killer.

Thank you for a little humor and common sense.
