Yup and the NBAPA accused them of collusion. Memphis wound up signing him anyway I believe. He had to play 10 games and then the $18M of his contract (can't believe he made that much back then) went back on the Blazers cap.ShelC wrote:The Blazers threatened the rest of the league with litigation if a team tried that with Darius Miles.

Ha! Yeah, and Sarver wrote back all passive aggressively asking they were going to tell the rest of the league who they could or couldn't sign.ShelC wrote:The Blazers threatened the rest of the league with litigation if a team tried that with Darius Miles.

I don't think Bosh would go for such a thing, even though it'd be hilarious.

It looks like he wants to keep playing, so it wouldn't be to stick it ot the Heat. We could use him as a real stop-gap, that "Dudley stretch 4" just doesn't comfort me. Let's run our own medical tests, and use him in limited time.
Re: NBA News: Offseason
Nope. He's had a 3rd blood clot while on blood thinners. He shouldn't be playing period and I certainly don't want to see him die in a Suns uniform on or off the court.Aztec Sunsfan wrote:It looks like he wants to keep playing, so it wouldn't be to stick it ot the Heat. My father takes blood thinners, and even a minor cut can become a crisis. It would seem to be incompatible with playing in the NBA.

Bosh is an idiot. He cannot play on blood thinners. Every time he steps on the court he risks his life. He should just collect his money and move on.

Well, the obvious team for pulling a stunt like that would be the Suns. Namely because it would hinder Miami's rebuilding efforts and the Suns own a couple of their future first-round picks.
But Bosh would be an idiot to keep playing if there's as much risk as we're hearing.

Re: NBA News: Offseason
The thing I'd worry about there is, we seem to have a decent relationship with Miami, have made some transactions and trades with them, etc. Yes, we have their picks and want them to be as valuable as possible, but us signing Bosh probably doesn't really change that much about Miami's picks, and it definitely will make Miami mad. They probably wouldn't make a trade with us for a long time.Well, the obvious team for pulling a stunt like that would be the Suns. Sixers rookie problem curse continues, with Simmons diagnosed with a fractured metacarpal in his right foot.

Air travel is supposed to also be a factor in the possible recurrance of blot clots isn't it?Cap wrote:My father takes blood thinners, and even a minor cut can become a crisis. It would seem to be incompatible with playing in the NBA.

Not really, according to my father. It's dangerous to sit still in an airplane seat for hours on end, but as long as you get up and stretch your legs frequently, it's OK. That shouldn't be a problem on the planes flown by NBA teams these days. The Bobster wrote:Air travel is supposed to also be a factor in the possible recurrance of blot clots isn't it?Cap wrote:My father takes blood thinners, and even a minor cut can become a crisis. Is it a Metacarpal fracture when you get hit with a fish that symbolizes how bad your team stinks?In2ition wrote:I was copying from a tweet. I hope that nobody actually tries to sign and play Bosh. It could literally kill him.
Re: NBA News: Offseason
It will. I understand how hard it is to give up on a dream, trust me. He needs to think about his family though. He has 5 kids. There's no way I step foot on a basketball court again.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I hope that nobody actually tries to sign and play Bosh. It could literally kill him.

5 minutes. He doesn't even have to run. Just pay him and extra million and let him stand in the corner. Just stick it to Riley, please.carey wrote:It will. He'd still have to pass a physical before he could even suit up.
He probably could pass a physical if he stops taking his meds. Of course, he might die.
