Lot of love for OKC here...they saved a lot of money(70 million I think) but I don't really understand why people think Schroeder is a good fit in OKC. I guess he's a bit of a mini Westbrook, so you play him during the 15 minutes Westbrook is on the bench, but can they really play together?
well Russ and Denis are both guys who can rack up point and assists but have their efficiency issues. The Thunder used to close with who ....
Russ - PG - Melo
Russ - Roberson - PG
Russ - Abrines - PG
either way you look at that it is an upgrade IMO , both guys are great getting in the lane and defensively Russ can guard 2s and PG can guard 3s. Melo was such a liability and so bad playing with the other two that it can't get worst bro

Given the pick is top 20 protected next year and then convert to 2 second round picks (which is very likely) I reckon it’s a gamble worth taking for Toronto
The pick isn't a huge gamble. The real gamble is trading away their franchise player who loved playing there and was in his prime, for a guy who may leave after one year.
I think the way the playoffs ended last season rocked the Toronto front office and - especially after years of underwhelming in the playoffs previously - they decided their roster wasn’t going to get it done. With this trade they either convince Leonard to stay and have an absolute a grade talent to build around, or he bails and they start their rebuild a couple of years earlier.

Yeah, I get it; they got horribly swept and lose in the playoffs every year. My point is, their loss every year has been to Lebron. Lebron just left the East. That might completely change the way things would go for them. With almost zero chance of facing Lebron in the playoffs next year, I'd say that would be a good reason to run it back and try one more time with the same team.

Derozan isn't a franchise player, he's AASW.
Interesting. He's a 4x all-star who played on team USA.. But hey, lets compare his value to that of Brandon Knight.
Knight was AASE...AASW is significantly better
Definitely a lot better than Knight. But is he better than McCollum or Booker?
I'm not a big DeRozan guy, but yes I believe so.

MPJ has had another back surgery. As I’ve said all along, one back surgery will eventually lead to another and then chronic issues in an athlete. This narrative is not going away. Sorry for him

And the Lakers have signed Michael Beasley to a 1-year deal.

I really think the Lakers are putting an epic fail of a roster around Lebron. It is almost like they are trying to make it as challenging for him as they possibly can. I don't think I like a single one of their moves this offseason outside of acquiring Lebron. I love it because of course I'm rooting for the Lakers to fail at all times.

The Lakers are punking LeBron. I'm pretty sure a Suns' fan switched bodies with Magic.

The only head-case they didn't add is Boogie.
I'm waiting on them to come to terms with Royce White.

Accept the minimum and ride the bench in Golden State, win a ring, retire. Easy peasy

I actually grew up halfway between Buffalo and Syracuse, and when Melo made that run in the tourney I fell in love with him. I wanted him to do great things in the league, and he has, don’t get me wrong, but his career ends up feeling so hollow to me. He just fades into the endless parade of empty scores that don’t do the INTANGIBLES that it takes to win; take a charge; set a hard pick; DEFER when necessary.

I’d rather them bring back Swaggy P instead.
