Ya im at the point now that I will do the Butler trade if it takes 2 1sts…im not including all 3
I'm not 100% sure. But Beal gotta go. And the overall attitude needs to change.
We need to bring some of the Heat culture here! And Jimmy is the answer!!!

We’re gonna trade all three firsts for Butler, aren’t we? I was hoping it would be no more than 2 and that we could somehow attach the other first with Nurk for another rotation player (preferably a big).

Oh I agree, that’s why I’d still trade Beal if we can’t get Butler. Almost anything would be worth it to me if it only takes 1 1st. Middleton and Portis? Sign me up. Zach LaVine? Yes please. Lonzo and Vuc? Definitely. Jordan Poole? Honestly, ya.

Ya..or it would be nice to keep one.

Our front office treats draft picks like they’re Halloween candy, so
I’m led to believe they’re going to be moved. If we could manage to keep one while still making those moves, that would be ideal.

Sidery said we're willing to include all 3 in the trade now, but who knows what he actually knows.
I kind of wish we'd use a 1st with Nurk now in a trade just to get that done and keep all 3 from going to Miami.

I'm much more inclined to believe Gambo who said they will not move all 3 or Ryan Dunn. Sidery literally knows nothing.

Literally? Wow. So he is brain dead? Or is he just a made up personage?

I don't even know if he's a real person. Might just be a bot.

I've never seen him.

He’s actually having an ok year…but the main draw is he’s 20 million a year cheaper.

Yeah but money is not a real factor for Ishbia, at least in this iteration. And we'd still be over the second apron.

I guess the question is, how desperate are the Suns to trade Beal? I’m not convinced it’s really a money issue so much as it just isn’t the right fit. We’ve seen the rumor of a Beal trade for LaVine if we can’t trade for Butler, so what else have they possibly explored? Of course, this is entirely contingent on a team willing to take on Beal’s contract and Beal approving of the trade.

My current theory (based on nothing) is that the Suns are trying to hold on and not trade all 3 picks to Miami, but Miami is asking for all 3. We're trying to hold pat at 2 so we have one left for other trades (e.g. Nurk). My guess is we'll cave and Miami will give us one or two 2nds to compensate, so that at least we'll have a pick or two to use as trade sweeteners.

I think it’s probably 3 teams want a pick…Miami doesn’t need more than 1 if they are getting the players they want from a 3rd team.

I think folks may be overestimating our negotiating position. We have the following assets on offer:
- Brad Beal, a player making $50m/year for 3 years, with a no-trade clause, who is at best your team's 3rd or 4th best player, who keeps getting hurt and injured
- three 1st round draft picks, all of which are "worst of 3" type of heavily repeatedly swapped picks from groups of other good teams, almost certain to be in the 24-30 range in the draft
Do you really think any team is salivating over these assets? You think you can get away with giving the Heat just one of the above puu-puu picks? When they just saw that the market value of these picks is 1/3 of an actually good 1st round pick?
If the deal does go through, it's because Miami completely gives up on getting any kind of value for Butler. Riley is pissed at Butler, but he's also stubborn, and I don't think he will be eager to give him away for such a mediocre haul as proposed in most of the trades I've seen.

Well then, you can just continue to pay him while he sits at home then. We all know how well that worked with Crowder.

Pretty sure Jimmy has some leverage too…. A team may only want him if they have any promise of resigning him.
