Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
Hopefully it means he does us one on the Beal buyout…waive your agent fee so Beal gives up more.
Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
Born in Michigan, went to high school in Michigan, went to the University of Michigan, and has played his entire NBA career in Michigan for the Detroit Pistons.
Yep, it checks out.
He’s a PF who averaged 3.7 rebounds per 36 minutes the last season he played. So I hate him already.

This is a 2-way you guys…who cares
Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
Nah...just cracks me up every time. Just looking forward to getting these young guys going and getting some reps.
I'm far more excited for this season than last.

You guys are reaching here…I’ll remind you again that he’s on a 2-way. Is it an agent favor? Ya probably. Livers missed all of last season and this is his chance to get a toe back in. I think this is one of those times where the Michigan connection is a coincidence. We haven’t shown any actual favoritism to Michigan based players…otherwise Jase Richardson would be on our team.

He'll most likely be their 17th or 18th man, spend most of the year in the G League trying to re-establish himself. He a second round choice at PF/SF by Detroit that really didn't excel at anything, hurt his hip in his 3rd year, and has been out the last year-and-a-half.

Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
The Suns will have 13 standard contracts after they buy out Beal.
I'd like to see them use one of those roster spots for Chris Paul and then it looks like they may be looking to trade some combination of Allen, O'Neal and Richards for a starting PF.
That would leave them with -
C Mark Williams, Khaman Maluach, Oso Ighodaro
PF [unknown starter], Nigel Hayes-Davis, Rasheer Fleming, C.J. Huntley [TW], Isaiah Livers [TW]
SF Dillon Brooks, Ryan Dunn
SG Devin Booker, Koby Brea [TW]
PG Jalen Green, Chris Paul, Collin Gillespie
That would still leave them the mid-level exception to sign a backup SG if they trade Allen or some insurance at C if they trade Richards.

Yeah, but no need to waste a roster spot of any kind as a favor to Bartelstein. What has he done for us lately, besides destroy our team with Beal?Split T wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 9:50 amYou guys are reaching here…I’ll remind you again that he’s on a 2-way. Is it an agent favor? Also, I would say giving $150M to a mediocre franchise player instead of trading him could be called favoritism.

Gonna be hard to use the mid-level exception for a backup SG when they use it to sign Paul. You really think Paul is coming for the minimum? If that were so, why hasn't he signed yet?The Bobster wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 10:18 amThe Suns will have 13 standard contracts after they buy out Beal.

Re: 2025 Suns Offeason News
One option is to split the mid-level exception, another is to trade one of the three players they have available for depth.

Booker has been here 10+ years…it’s weird if you try to use him as a Michigan connection.JeremyG wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 11:07 amYeah, but no need to waste a roster spot of any kind as a favor to Bartelstein. It’s weird for Ishbia to say he’s untouchable and that he is never going to trade him, after 10 years of failed leadership.Split T wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 11:56 amBooker has been here 10+ years…it’s weird if you try to use him as a Michigan connection.JeremyG wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 11:07 amYeah, but no need to waste a roster spot of any kind as a favor to Bartelstein.
