Oladipo can't shoot. Orlando tried him as a PG and hated it. I love his defense and athleticism but I don't think his shot is fixable and don't think he fits here with Booker as our SG of the future.

Ideally I'd like the second piece to play a different position from Booker, but have a similar age and contract status. Oladipo plays the same position as Booker and is one year from RFA status.
I get all of that. Very valid concerns.

I just think that with Oladipo and Hield, they're good enough to compel me to give it a try. With Oladipo, I think there is less reason for concern. He can defend 1s. Draft Valentine and make him the primary ball handler and you have a three guard lineup of Oladipo-Booker-Valentine.
I'm not feeling that lineup at all. I'm having a hard time seeing this lineup being any better than a Bledsoe-Booker-Warren lineup. Plus, we would still have the #4 and #13 pick available still.

I'm not opposed to trading away both Bledsoe and Knight, even trading away 3 of the 4 draft picks for next years picks + other assets. I would rather find a pg in next years draft, which should have at least 3 really outstanding ones. There are a lot of ways they could go, but I hope that they figure out something that is not folly or goes off the rails and sets the Suns back again.

I voted Skal. I know its a reach at #4, but i would try to trade down but at the same time try to make sure we get him. None of the other players really exite me and i think skal has the biggest upside of all those prospects. I'm thinking who will be the best player if he fullfills his potential and who would possibly be a top 3 player on a championship team, again by reaching its full potential. Bender would be my second option, also because of his potential.

he can shoot, just not threes. kinda like wade (until he became a 3 pt threat in the playoffs this year)

Draft Valentine? You just said in another thread he had Atrocious Defense and Brandon Roy Knees.
I was commenting on the reasons why he was falling. That's the book on him, reportedly.

I'm still open to drafting him.

I agree. Just draft the best players possible. If we can move up, fine. If not, fine.

That's an exaggeration. He's not a good shooter yet, but he isn't terrible or completely incapable hitting the outside shot.

Why not?

His shooting percentages have gone up every year. You're acting like he's a sub-.400 field goal shooter; he's not.

In a backcourt with Booker and Valentine, oladipo doesn't need to be elite shooter

Sorry; I should have been more nuanced and detailed. I don't think he is horrific as a shooter. But I'm not sure I love him as a PG. I really want a more pure PG like a Rubio, who has an even WORSE shot, but is an amazing passer. I just miss Nash and want a vaguely Nashy player who actually likes passing and getting assists and setting up his teammates. I don't really want a "combo" guard faking that he's a PG (like Oladipo), and I don't want a gunner who will look for his own shot first (like Knight).

Phoenix Suns draft: Kris Dunn says he'd 'fit in fine'
“I think I would fit in fine if they do select me,” Dunn said. “I mean, they have a lot of great players around there. I kind of know Devin Booker through the process that I’ve been going through. He’s been out in LA and I got to bump into him. He said it’s a great place to live at. Great food there. I think, if they did select me, I think I could blend in.”

I just saw it reported that we are actively shopping Bledsoe and going to take Dunn. I really, really hope that means we are trading Bledsoe and Knight, at least, and better yet trading both and Dunn for something better.

Where was it reported?

I liked Dunn at one point, but I've cooled on him. At best he's a bigger Kyle Lowry/Eric Bledsoe. And h'e'd need to learn how to shoot. But I'd definitely be for a full rebuild. Dunn-Booker-Warren-13th pick-Len would be pretty bad again next year and get us a high pick in what should be a better draft next year. Although, it'd depend on what we trade bledsoe and knight for.
