Does anything in our current org tell you we are much better than the Kings when it comes to leadership in the FO?
I think our GM is much better than theirs, as is our training staff. That may sound like I'm grasping at straws, but it means we're more likely to successfully put a good team around Cousins in the future, and it means we can keep him and our other stars on the court better.
You think our team is well-constructed? I just don't see it. We have good pieces as building blocks, but they don't form a cohesive unit. I can't remember the last time they did. Certainly never with Ryan.

And yes, it did sound like you were grasping.

Let's put it this way, if Markieff Morris were as good of a player as Boogie, would we have looked the other way and still be pining for him to be on our team? You don't put your team in the hands of head cases. Especially when you have the best thing to happen to your team in 15 years here.

Zero. The discussions apparently happened before Christmas and there has been no discussion since the Kings have announced their intent to extend Cousins to a max deal.

So this is either old, death news, or a Kings' attempt to get a better offer. Most likely the first, and Gambo save it for a good time to print it on a dry day. Big risk, but I would have pulled the trigger for that price, if "posibly more" excludes Booker, Bender and Tucker... just kidding on PJ!!

I'd be very surprised if it happens. If there is any truth to it, it's probably Sacramento leaking it to get other teams to make better offers. Len, Warren, and a mid lottery first is a pretty bad haul for a top 10 player in his prime. Someone said gambo was getting his info from Sacramento.

Sacramento's beat writer said there's no truth to the rumor.

On an unrelated note, if we had a GM that had any sort of clue, we'd move Bledsoe now. His value will never be higher. Move him now (should be a member of the Orlando Magic by the end of February).

I wonder why this isn't talked about more--we have question marks at the SF (and potentially PF) position, we are in contention to get a top 3-5 pick in a point-guard heavy draft, and we have a point guard that has a difficult time setting up teammates and staying healthy, but who is currently playing out of his mind.

It seems like the perfect time to use Bledsoe to try and get a talented SF/PF, and then use the draft pick to draft his replacement. I imagine the biggest hurdle is finding a team with a talented SF/PF that has serious PG needs.

"Hey Cleveland. Remember James best friend that shares agents with him? I heard James has been lobbying hard for a PG."

Cleveland has nothing to trade back to us. We'd just be giving Bledsoe away. There's not a whole lot of places that need a PG that also have a good 3 or 4. Off the top of my head, you've got Orlando for Aaron Gordon, Chicago for Jimmy Butler(not gonna happen), Dallas for Harrison Barnes, Sacramento for Rudy Gay, Denver for Danilo Gallinari. Gallo would be interesting as Denver also has Wilson Chandler at the 3/4. I don't want Harrison Barnes or Rudy Gay. We'd have to give up more than Bledsoe to get Butler and I don't think Chicago would be interested. Gordon is intersting, he's more of a prospect at the 4, but a better prospect than Chriss or Bender.

3 way trade.

They've got nothing to trade anyone. They're not moving love, Irving, or LeBron. Thompson, shumpert, and Smith are over paid role players. They have zero young prospects and can't trade a draft pick until like 2023.

What if they insist on our own 1st round pick this year?

Rudy gay, Darren collision, ty Lawson, Matt Barnes? Those are there vets. We've at least got Tyson chandler and Eric Bledsoe. Chandler is a solid vet influence and Bledsoe is a good friend.
I actually think Watson could handle him and get him to buy into the "family". He's got a way with players.

The Clippers announcers said there were 11 scouts at our last game taking a look at Knight.

With the latest info coming out about how this trade was discussed over a month ago, I get the feeling that Sacramento intentionally leaked it to strengthen their position in negation with Cousins. Not that he should or would take less money, but just a way of sending a subtle (albeit flaccid) message that he (Cousins) doesn't hold every single card at the table.

I'm guessing D league scouts.

To be fair. The D-League has progressed a lot more than the Suns have the the last five years.
