Any meaningful update in terms of the players union contesting the suspension?

Can Ayton play in the G-league while he is suspended?

It's pretty stunning that Ayton is getting within one game suspension of that for Kermit Washington breaking Rudy T's entire face.

How does what Ayton did even remotely compare to the other offenses and names on that list? Mind boggling.

Love it!!!

Simple and demolishing, hopefully the League reduce the penalty to make it more in line with previous criteria.

It is what the players negotiated in the last CBA. It may look excessive in comparison to previous suspensions, but they signed on the line that is dotted accepting it.

IMO, the penalty is not in proportion to the individual offense. It is sized based on cultural demand, so to speak.

That doesn't make sense, so let me explain. I might need a soap box for this.

When the NBA suspended Crittenton and Arenas for the guns, it's because those specific individuals were a danger to their team. The NBA wasn't worried at all that the league will be full of six shooters, cowboy hats, and vigilante justice.

When they suspend Ayton for masking his use of PEDs, it's mostly not about Ayton. It's a message to all the players looking for an edge, all the teams willing to turn a blind eye, all the trainers trying to get a piece of the pie by promising to take a player to the next level, all the hangers on pressuring players to do whatever it takes to make that money.

It's not that this particular diuretic is bad, it's that a league that allows PEDs could quickly become a chemical arms race (pun acknowledged). And that would be very bad for players willing to sacrifice their future health to make it in the league. Not just current NBA players, but any kid with basketball talent has a bunch of greedy grownups pressuring them to do whatever it takes.

Love your "pun acknowledged". I'm going to borrow that one in the future.

The arbitrator can reduce the penalty whether the league likes it or not.

Has any arbitrator ever done the Suns a solid?

Thank you. Ayton is an idiot. and people are blaming the NBA and looking to an arbitrator to bail us out of the mess Ayton created.

The more this story sits, the more I find the excuse frustrating. "I didn't know what I put in my body." Yeah, sure. You're a pro athlete and you're just stuffing magic beans in your mouth without asking any questions? Or even if he *did* not know, why is he hiring people to give him random supplements who are so unscrupulous?

25 games is a ton, but I just don't see how anybody could claim that this sort of thing is an accident. If 25 games is what the CBA says, what cause is there for leniency or reducing the sentence? Why even put that in the CBA if they aren't going to enforce it?
