Suns News: Offseason
Re: Suns News: Offseason
We need word from Gambo on this.
"There are 3 rules I live by: never get less than 12 hours sleep, never play cards with a guy with the same first name as a city & never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Everything else is cream cheese."
Re: Suns News: Offseason
Spending a bunch of money to renovate the arena and then Covid hits half way through the season. I don’t see how Sarver can’t be hurting financially.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.
Re: Suns News: Offseason
Got it. I must have forgot/missed it. So really nothing new...
Re: Suns News: Offseason
agreed. but it isn't like they aren't taking money from season ticket holders right now. My 2021 season tickets are still coming out of my account every month. I am not sure how they handled the remaining games for this season, though. I heard they were just giving credit to them, instead of refunds.
Re: Suns News: Offseason
Whenever I see an article where Windhorst mentions the Suns, I prepare myself for bad news.

Is that not exactly what I said was very likely several weeks ago?
(Just saying that it's an obvious take for anyone who follows this franchise.)

Re: Suns News: Offseason
I would be stunned if Sarver didn't cheap out this summer. He'll let us re-sign a few of our free agents to small contracts, draft somebody at 10, and call it an offseason. Might even force Jones to trade our draft pick to save a few mil.

Fuck. I believe it. Fire up the Sarver Out machine.
With any luck we can have a legit vaccine in early 2021 and go back to games in person then Sarver can chill out.

Re: Suns News: Offseason
I couldn't even blame Sarver if he "cheaped out" as you put it. This covid stuff has to have been a nightmare to operate under. I think we should all adjust our expectations.
Go Suns!

Re: Suns News: Offseason
I assume there will be a couple of teams willing to spend this offseason and most of the rest of the league will be on a tight budget. It's going to be a bummer of an offseason for free agents, and I think there will be quite a few who sign one year deals or deals with player options.

Re: Suns News: Offseason
That's fair. I wish Sarver had deeper pockets, but I can't blame him if his businesses have had a brutal year and that causes him to be more conservative with team spending this offseason.
Re: Suns News: Offseason
I thought his main businesses were banking and real estate. Not sure how closely tied commercial real estate markets are to the residential, but that is still booming. Also, every single giant building in almost any downtown section in this country has a bank's name on it. I am sure he is doing fine.
Re: Suns News: Offseason
I heard that his companies stock is down quite a bit, but I don't know what stock that is. Not having fans in the stands(potentially) after they are begging people to check out the Transformation center and then buy season tickets isn't going to help.Indy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 10:33 amI thought his main businesses were banking and real estate.
