I’m surprised no one is mentioning the coaching snafu by Stotts. By challenging that last call they used their final timeout. Had they not done that. They’d have had a chance to set up a half court play with 2.whatever on the clock.
Also not mentioned was the uncalled backcourt violation on that final play. McCollum bumbled the inbounds pass on the Blazers side of the court back into the backcourt and went and got it.

I did notice that too...but he didn’t get the shot off anyways.

Here's the L2M report, looks like CJ did travel, plus a lot of other stuff

Good stuff. They should have also called a foul on Powell before the ball was inbounded. That would have been FT and we keep the ball, right?

Better the way it worked out as we might have gone to OT the other way.

True, they confirmed they missed a foul there. There was also an incorrect foul that gave Saric free throws and a missed travel on Bridges.

Something to point out...We had zero rim protection with Ayton out...might explain a little of the easy buckets Lillard got at the rim.

Lillard's parade to the rim was more about him and defensive scheme than having a rim protector out there. I guess we could say the scheme would change with Ayton, but the Suns were guarding against the three first.

Yup Yup
The breakdowns were before getting to the paint

Like I said we maybe don't appreciate Ayton's ability to hedge above the 3pt line and move his feet well enough to force the guard to go wide.
With poor Dario n Frank, Dame was getting around them with one or two quick dribbles or splitting the double when they jumped out too early worried about him turning the corner

Either way though, I think it's still good they got an extended run and we kinda simulated a DA "foul trouble" game. Other thing I hope it was one of those getting to watch from the sidelines moments for DA when players say it gave them a different perspective on where else they can contribute

I am thinking that I want the Lakers to finish 7th and have to play either GS or Memphis.

I do not think that it is a given that the Lakers beat either of them in a one game showdown. I think they have a better chance to beat the Lakers than we have in a 7 game playoff series.

How deep will Monty go into our bench, baring foul trouble, during the playoffs? If healthy will Cam Johnson get minutes? I would gladly give him Carters minutes. Even with Cam's poor shooting I think we have struggled more as a team without him. He does play defense, is big and active. I think we are at our best when both Cam Johnson and Mikal are making shots, duh.

Looks like the Clips are dumping against the Rockets so that they do not have to face the Lakers in case we decide to dump against the Spurs.

Watch them play better without Ayton.
I know this was a joke, but being left with a struggling Saric and Frank Kaminsky as your only bigs really doesn't put us in a very good position, regardless of Ayton's deficiencies.

Didn’t Monty learn NOT to take Payne out too soon?
No, he hasn't. I was complaining about this too when it happened. Suns survived though.

Also, no one should ever put Booker in the same category as Lillard.
We'll see. I agree Dame is ahead of Booker now, and yeah, I'm a Booker guy, but I think Booker just needs time to continuing maturing as a superstar.
