I've been watching a fair bit of the Chicago/Charlotte game on ESPN right now and came to the realization that 88-year-old Hubie Brown is still one of the best color commentators doing the job.

So they’re not all soft tissue. Only 3 years he missed time, twice in crucial postseason series. But he’s had a bunch of other nagging injuries. And he’s 36 years old.

None in the last 3 years since he went vegan though.

How do you know if someone is vegan?

Of all the players in the top 10, CP3 is by far the oldest. Other than Westbrook, no one else comes close in age.

Much has been written about how CP3 went vegan after he went to OKC, and I think that was considered one of the key reasons for him sudden becoming one of the healthier stars in the league after that disappointing run in Houston.

I'm generally with you sauce, that we should try to limit CP3's minutes whenever possible. But on the other hand, given that we have a lot of momentum and are in great rhythm, I'm also not willing to put a hard cap on his minutes just for the sake of it. I do agree that fewer minutes lead to lower potential for injury. Having said that, Curry is #15 on that list and merely 95 minutes behind Paul, even though he's played 5 fewer games.

It was a real shame last year in the playoffs, how the hand/wrist injuries limited Paul for the finals... but I think that was from overly physical defense from the Clippers (that's why they are my second most hated team after the Lakers now) -- that image of Mann clearly slapping with all his might on Paul's wrist and then protesting like he'd been wronged is perhaps one of the most indelible images from the playoff run last year -- than from the minutes Paul played.

I think not a single Suns fan wouldn't want Paul to log fewer minutes, but I agree with the others that he does seem to pace himself reasonably well and doesn't really get into the fray much on the court, other than trying to pick pockets on the defensive end and occasionally taking jump shots where others could undercut him with aggressive D, and also any time he gets on the court with Beverley.

Let's try to hope for the best, and just generally relax a bit.

Who cares about momentum and rhythm in February. I care about it in June. Nobody remembers who is the best team in the league in February.

Ok, I stand corrected. But I guess given that we have little control over the situation, I'm choosing to stay positive by believing that his turning vegan has really helped with his ability to avoid non-contact injuries.

I agree with that. On the other hand, there's no guarantee that if we were to lose momentum now that we can just turn it back on and be in top shape in June. I'm okay with cutting down minutes if there's a capable backup. Don't want the whole team to develop strange habits because a non-threat is handling the ball and not getting the team into proper offense every time down the court. I've noticed on at least 3 occasions where we do our swing the ball around the perimeter thing, for the ball to find a wide open man, and for that man -- Payton -- to start dribbling into the paint because the opposing defenders just don't close out on him as hard. Or at all.

I think it’s on Monty to do whatever it takes to make sure we win in June- whether that means taking some losses now. And it’s on Jones to decide if he’s just going to be complacent and accept losing because of not having a capable threat off the bench. And I’m not convinced that problem is solved once Landry and Cam return.

Their play by play announcer was awful.
I'll give her a pass because a female lead pxp announcer is extremely rare. Are there any others?
I don't want to make this political at all... having said that, I wouldn't give her a pass just because it's a she. She was awful and they both need to learn that a good joke gets bad after using it 2-3 times in a short span, let alone 8-10 times. Everybody exaggerates motions on the court to get calls, Embiid is maybe the most egregious of all 30 active players in this game. Talk about the Oscars once. Twice if you have to. Then STFU.
I get it. Announcers should be picked by merit no matter the sex. They were a painful pair. I'll just leave it at that.

If you Google "Chris Paul vegan", there are tons of results from big publications and conversation directly from Chris Paul.

Edit: you got me Sauce!

You know what absolutely blows my mind...how does Deandre play 30 minutes...and have 0 free throws...not even one...as a statistic that blows my mind...
He only took 3 shots at the rim all night.
Ummm ..'great....'...to me that means we've got an issue...he should be the dominant interior presence for the team...so how are we not concened here?
