Nobody has taken the Thunder as serious playoff contenders until maybe last year going into this year.

All the years with Russ everyone knew they were a regular season team. Their roster was weak and they let talent continuously go in the name of picks. They have not been serious about winning and that is part of why KD left to begin with. It started with them shipping off Harden for nothing.

KD apparently wasn't serious about winning because he folded as soon as the Thunder went up 3-1 against the Warriors in the Conference finals.

I don't know what talent they "continuously" let go. It seems like you're just taking the Harden example and extrapolating it across the span of a decade.

I don’t believe for one second we need to trade 2 1st in a Beal/Jimmy trade. One 1st seems more than sufficient. Especially if the rumor deal between us, MIL, TOR, MIA is to be believed. Seems like everyone wins tbh. Especially how much damage Jimmy has done to trade value.

Twos 1st and Nurk could honestly net something real nice imo.

So yeah, I really think something like this could get done. Not this specific deal, cuz I don’t believe DC one bit lol, but something similar? Yeah. People can try and clown this draft swap we did but multiple 1st is nothing to sniff at. People can be down on here all they want but multiple solid players have been traded already for 2nds, so two 1st has to catch peoples attention imo.

About Avdija, I'd LOVE if somehow we got him, but if I am the Blazers, what are you attaching to Nurkic's contract? None of the new picks we have re really interesting. The 29th-30th pick this year from CLE? Two picks in 2027 and 2029 from the worst between CLE/MIN/UTA? Does not look great, considering they spent a 2029 1stR pick with real upside (second most favorable of Blazers, Bucks, Celtics picks and all of them could suck by that time), plus two pretty decent seconds in POR's 2028 and 2030.

Yeah that’s probably why the actual insiders get paid the big bucks… coz whatever rumors they tout at least have some real sources.
