My offseason plan includes "Ayton for role players". We need the depth, just need the right role players. And I'm fine taking the chance another team and its coach will unlock Wilt 2.0. In fact, we might be selling high on him just the same. If he can't get up playing with CP and Book and KD, good luck putting him on a team like Detroit or even Dallas or Atlanta where the players aren't as good/committed and there's more dysfunction than success.
He was flat out a negative on the court. We will be better just by not having him out there,
That sure came to fruition in game 6.
It sure did every other game in the playoffs
Yeah like when he sealed the game 4 win for us in crunch time.

I keep complaining about Monty having Ayton set up behind the basket on the baseline. Today I found out the most ironic thing about that. It’s called the “dunker” position. 😂😂
Yep. It's for guys that like to dunk.

Watch Boston and Robert Williams to see how it’s supposed to work. He got a lot of easy dunks from the dunker spot

The game where he was -13?

You mean the game he made a whopping 3 field goals, 8 rebounds? “Sealed the game.”

I was there. I heard the collective groans and the roars when Landale took over.

It's like I enter into an alternate reality when I visit this forum, where I experience almost nothing but gaslighting.

Do you seriously agree with Sauce that Ayton was not critical to us winning game 4, especially in crunch time?

I don't think he was critical to anything the Suns in the playoffs this year. He had a couple games where he flashed, but I don't think he was a reason they won a game. He had a couple of right place right time plays in game 4, which were very refreshing, but I'm not gonna act like he saved the game for the Suns.

If he would have played hard and to his potential, we'd still be playing, not celebrating brief moments where he gave a shit.

Ayton is NOT underperforming and he is NOT inconsistent! As proof, I offer this one game he played okay in.

Finally... sheesh, now I see it. Ayton's far better than Book and KD. We should have super maxed him.

Ayton was awesome in 2021 post season. He surprised me. Miss that guy.

See now you’re changing the context. The context was “every other game in the playoffs.” So I offered one clear example to the contrary.

“There is no possibility of Monty getting fired in the summer of 2023, you’re crazy.”

“Monty is not on the hot seat at all.”

“Monty is the greatest coach since sliced bread.”

“There is nothing even controversial about Monty, why would you start a thread about someone so perfect and saintly who’s obviously going to be here for another decade?”

How did those types of posts hold up to reality?

Jeremy, do you think Ayton performed well in this year's playoffs? In this regular season? How about the following specific questions:

On a "school grade" scale, like A to F, what grade would you give Ayton's regular season, and his playoffs, this year?

Lastly, do you think that Ayton played at the level of a max-contract player in the 2022-23 season?

I’ll hand it to you with Monty. You were right and most of us were wrong, but I don’t think that’s going to happen again. Do you really think Ayton will play another game for Phoenix?
