Watched the latest episode of Severance last night, and it was better than the first episode and answered some of the questions that came up in the first.
I too watched it as soon as it was available last night. Good stuff. I feel like it will ramp up episode by episode just like the first season.
I have a theory that I wonder about. Do you think that Ricken might be an Eagen or Eagan adjacent? BTW, this isn't any type of spoiler, as there is no indication of this.

I hadn't thought of that although he's certainly pompous enough to be one. But if so, I would have thought that his book would have gotten more of a reaction when it was intercepted in S1. One of the big theories making the rounds is that the real Helena has now infiltrated the innie's world. One of the tells was that it took her a bit to find the on switch on her computer in S2E1. It also took her a minute to embrace Mark S. after kissing him just previously.
Yeah, when they asked her what she saw, she lied to them. That would have been a tell too. My son and I were thinking the same thing, that it's the innie.

But she could have also lied because she was embarrassed that she is an Eagan and what they might think of her.

Severance S2E2 question:

Also, why was Helena's father so angry with her? He knew it was her innie talking, right?

Wait a second, I’ve never seen this. She has a talking belly button?

I hadn't watched The Expanse in a little while and ended up watching S3E6 & 7 last night after seeing that Season 3 is leaving Prime in 12 days, I believe it said! So I'm watching a couple a night to make sure I get through Season 3 before it's gone.

Weird since they bought the rights to produce the last couple of seasons.
I think for some reason he thought she would be in better control of her innie, so he was highly disappointed in her. Or, perhaps she convinced him that she could do this and it would be positive to the company?

Yeah, I guess they don't own the previous seasons but it's kind of weird that only Season 3 is going away as far as I can tell. Luckily I saw this in time so I can get through them before they're gone.

Yeah, that make some sense. Can you imagine what a monster she is though to have watched all that her innie had gone through including trying to hang herself and yet kept sending her back. None of the others had the luxury of watching their innie's at work. Just talking about it, if severance was a real thing, that should be a requirement to be able to watch your innie and make sure everything is on the up and up.

It's crazy that she just separates herself from her innie, even though the innie is in so much pain that she wanted her outie to hurt too. And on top of that, she just allows the people at Lumon to torture her. Makes you wonder if she has an ulterior motive besides what her father wants, and is acting out herself?

I don't really watch TV aside from live sports and occasional movies.
But what this does enable me to do is to read y'all's spoilers and then, much like Ariel from The Little mermaid, I can feel like I'm a part of your guys's world(s).

You're missing a good one, man!

I was chatting with GPT and the discussion turned to the future of movies. You’re probably not interested in what ChatGPT had to say, but I am interested in what you have to say, so here’s my end of part of the chat, lightly edited:
Nick Meyer. After Star Trek II and Star Trek VI, what else did he do?
Yeah, maybe his preference for understated character drama over spectacle. Hollywood seems to do the opposite. They've been trying and failing for four decades to recreate TWOK, because none of the wannabes have the heart of the original film, they just try to amaze with bigger and badder bad guys.
For the most part, Hollywood — especially established franchises with commercial value — just responds to the market. People are going to keep getting what they keep buying, and that's spectacle.
I think we’re going to see a shift to “made to order” movies. The day will come when AIs can write screenplays better, faster and cheaper than any human. And going on location with cameras and sound equipment and actors and props and makeup and wardrobe and lighting and everything? Forget it, the AI just has to imagine it and it appears on screen. You just tell the computer what kind of movie you want and the computer makes it.
It's inevitable. That elusive, undefinable human "charm" is something AIs will ultimately learn to produce even if we don't know how to define it; that's one thing that sets learning AIs apart from programmed algorithms.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind 'Empire from the Ashes' series to be made into a number of movies. AI might be how it's created.

Episode 3 of Severance was a bit slower and a little bit more confusing. Now, I'm wondering if the rhythm is going to be slow, fast, slow, fast, etc?
