Brandon Knight deserves a clean slate from Suns fans

Brandon Knight doesn't need to be traded or benched; he needs a real shot to become the player the Suns thought he'd be when trading for him less than two years ago.

I hope Knight does well for the team I root for. Nothing more, nothing less. I'll always be a Suns fan, not a players fan.

+1 Obviously, he is going to get his shot. But I would want to see drastic improvement in his court awareness and working within the flow of the offense.
he needs a real shot to become the player the Suns thought he'd be

And you could say the same about the 4 other guards on the squad who might not see the court as long as we have Bledsoe, Knight, and Book..
My point is that there's no need for the Suns in their current state to trade, drastically cut the minutes, or in any way give up on Knight.
No need, but I would rather have future draft picks that B Knight.

He is what we thought he was!! He doesn't need a "clean slate". I don't think we've been unfairly critical. He just is what he is: A high volume scoring guard who can play point.

Fun BASE fact.

29 players took more than 5 3's per game last season. Knight is 9th on that list at 6.8 3pta/game. Of those 29 players, only Kobe shot a lower %.

To be fair, we really aren't seeing the player McD envisioned. Knight did shoot better with the Bucks, and he isn't shooting terrible with us. Maybe if he hits just a few more of those shots, opposing teams will have to react to him instead of just letting him shoot.

Gardino: I read your post and just find myself thinking, "Yes, I hope he hits a few more of those shots! ... To improve his trade value."

He's also used to creating his own offense and setting others up because of it. So if he's the 2guard...

OK, the NBA announced the regular season schedule last week, blah blah blah, we already know all about it. First Suns game is on Oct 26, which sounds like forever away. I think there are 6 preseason games leading up to that date.

Does anyone know when training camp starts? I'm itching for some real news to talk about.

Start with Kings, Thunder, Warriors, Clippers. Four b2bs in November.

We also end the season with something like 9 straight games against 2016 playoff teams? Reminiscent of a few years ago when we were on the bubble and lost a few close ones at the the end of the year. I think it was Memphis and Dallas?

When you're a bad team, there are a lot of tough games on the schedule.

My company is close to partnering with a large organization in Phoenix and I may be out there a few times this year. I've never actually been to Phoenix before, so I hope to cross a "Suns Home Game" off my bucket list. Would be nice to grab drinks one night too, time permitting.

Long story short: I grew up in a city (Montreal, Canada) with no team, but was a big basketball fan. Around 1990-91 my brother introduced me to this player, Kevin Johnson. I was 10. Been a Suns fan ever since.
