I'll admit, I really like the past season's unis a lot. I wasn't a fan at all of the new ones, but they are growing on me. I'm willing to change things up and hope that history gives these new ones a much more favorable rating, which comes from wins, good vibes and nostalgia.

What do you guys think of Kris Middleton? His rankings by SI seem odd to me, as they have him above DeRozan. I was looking at his numbers from his 3rd year and they are very comparable to TJ's.

I'm a big Middleton fan. He'll never be a star, but he's a very valuable role player. He's 40% from 3, defends multiple positions well, and he can create a little. Derozan is a better scorer, but Middleton does more.

How can you have a roll player ranked ahead of a star? DeRozan has a PER about 10 points above Middleton, a Win Share of almost twice as much. I just have a hard time seeing Middleton as better, even if he is a 3 & D guy, and it feels like his D is over rated.

I guess it just depends on what you need. If you already got a scorer, say Booker, you'd probably rather match him with Middleton. Derozan is a very very good scorer though. If I'm just ranking players regardless of fit, Derozan would be higher.

Yeah, say you're starting a team from scratch. Do you pick a Middleton as a guy off the bench and a 3rd or 4th option starter, or do you pick a legitimate 1 or 2 option? I'm not saying that great 3rd or 4th options aren't super valuable players though.

Is Derozan
really a legit 1 or 2 option? He plays like one, his game is the game of the #1 guy, but he hasn't been very successful in that role. The Raps are the 3rd best team in the east, and Derozan is maybe the 10th or 15th best perimeter player in the NBA. Do you want a role player who is great at his role, or a star who is so-so at being a star?

I wouldn't want him to be my best player, but put him on say the jazz and you might have something. Jazz are a great defensive team that will probably struggle to score this year. Derozan could be their offense while they continue to be a defensive team.

The statement jerseys look way better than the video game showed them.

They do. And they are much better than the two regular ones (especially the white one), imo.
Now, these are actually lit if true (supposedly leaked on Tyler Ulis' Instagram):

I hope the NBA doesn't make the players wear the shorts that high up. I know the NBA doesn't want the players to "sag" their shorts, but wearing them that high is just going overboard. The waist is high enough, David Stern!!!

I like these okay, but the best set is still the 1973-92 with the Western lettering. They should have just updated them with Western numbers to match and called it a day.

The end of the CBA season coincides with the NBA All-Star break, when Bledsoe is due for his biannual knee injury. Assuming the last two months of the season will be a tankathon for the Suns, with Ulis and Mike James as the only healthy PGs on the roster, I'd have no problem with the nostalgic addition of Marbury for the tank period.
Of course, I haven't seen him play in a lot of years, and I don't know whether being a star in the CBA means he's still physically capable of playing the NBA game, or whether he'd be comfortable being more of a distributor than the scoring machine he was in his Starbury days, but if the answers to those questions are satisfactory, why not? He'd only be taking minutes from James.

Following that logic, why not a younger vet? Udric, Monte Ellis, and Deron Williams are all unsigned, a lot younger than Marbury, and played in the NBA just last year. Some of them might even be more sane than Marbury, too.

Yeah, why not? We could go with somebody like Udrih/Ellis/Williams, or with Marbury. Not a big deal either way. Certainly nothing worth shooting the messenger over.
As for Marbury's sanity, he was pretty much a model citizen last time he was here. And we're only talking about two months, so even the appearance of his New York incarnation won't be here long enough to become a problem.
