FT shooting is a better indicator of good outside shooting than 3pt%.

and FG% only tells you about the players' shot selection (or his ability to make contested shots). just because shaq is shooting 60% from the field doesnt mean he can be a stretch 5. and just because damian lillard shot 42% FG overall last season doesnt mean you can leave him open from the perimeter.
That was my point when receiving his fg%, we don't know where he was shooting from. But, you're right, his decent ft% shows that he wasn't completely broken, but he did make significant improvements in the NBA.

Kawhi Leonard is a good example of a player with essentially no shooting skills in college who turned into an excellent one.

if you check kawhi's college stats, he already had average FT shooting. definitely not "no shooting skills" in college. 3pt shooting wasnt emphasized 6 yrs ago in college unlike today where even bad shooters take 6 or 7 attempts a game.

Ft shooting can be a good indicator of future outside shooting success, but doesn't necessarily indicate anything about current ability. Kawhi had very little outside shooting ability in college. Even still, he went from a 72% FT shooter to over 90% this year and from a 20% 3pt shooter, to over 40%. Those are significant improvements.

nothing surprising about kawhi's improvement

last yr in college 76% FT, first year in the nba 77% FT

and he was already a good 3 pt shooter in his rookie season with the spurs

Just watched Duke vs Boston College, Jayson Tatum is a very good player, although he's a little too similar to Warren IMO. I think Tatum is a better prospect, but both are big wings with good scoring instincts but not great jump shots. I was impressed with Giles as well, had some very nice moves in the post. If he's healthy, he's gonna be good.

Whoever pointed at Jackson, I am impressed. That passing ability is outstanding, and the guy dribbles with both hands effortlessly. Some of his higlights smell like a slim LeBron.

I wouldn't have had very much interest in adding a SF at the beginning of this year, but TJ's been playing with the intensity of a Hillary Clinton rally as of late. I'm intrigued.

I can't say I entered the year thinking any position was locked with the exception of SG. Poor Warren can't catch a break, though. Last season when the minutes were his, season ending injury. This year, the mistery head stuff. Poor sap.

He had an impressive game yesterday. I only caught the first half but I think he ended up with like 18 points, 8 boards, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. He's got nice touch around the basket and his jumpshot was OK. Defense was very good, they played him as a small ball 5 for a bit and he defended the rim well and switched onto guards with ease. Had two beautiful steals, picked the ball handlers dribble for one, jumped the passing lane for the other. Finished both with fast break dunks. He's definitely on my short list.

I also caught part of the Kentucky game yesterday, Monk had a rough shooting night though and didn't look great. Fox was impressive, he's very fast and got to the rim pretty easily. He finished well in this game, but I hear one of the knocks on him is his finishing ability.

It's early, but so far I am not impressed. I'm leaning more towards Ball.

I have a stupid question. How many picks do we have in this draft, where did we get them from, and where roughly will they lie (if the season ended today)? Don't we have our own 1st and 2nd-rounders, plus Miami's 1st-rounder? Won't that Miami pick be good because Miami stinks so bad this season? Am I missing anything?

Is Frank Ntilikina the greek freak of PGs in this draft?

I'm not sure what to think about Smith. He seems kind of shifty, which I like. Where Bledsoe is kind of like a bowling ball going to the rim Smith is more Nash-like in how he splits defenders. Has a nice floater already too.

I definitely think we go PG if we draft in the top 5 and if that's the case I do see us moving Bledsoe regardless of whether Knight is still here.
Go Suns!

We have our own picks this year (1st & 2nd round) and 2017 first round pick (from Heat) (protected top 7 in 2017-18, unprotected in 2019)

I think you are right. I got that when I searched, 'Outstanding draft picks for the Suns'.

Here is what RealGM says, "2018 first round draft pick to Phoenix
Miami's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-7 in 2018 and unprotected in 2019 [Miami-New Orleans-Phoenix, 2/19/2015]" http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/ ... s/detailed
This makes more sense.

Riley is no stupid, and Wade is enjoying the mess that is Chicago (NY still the same circus haha).

If you are the Heat, do you try to win with Hassan, Dragic and stuff, or you sell those two and start over? I bet they could get a hefty package for Hassan.

Random thought: if you are Minni, do you accept LaVine (or Wiggins if you may of course) and something for Dragic and Whiteside?
