Bledsoe has to go, though. The offense is too stagnant with him n the court, and he's too young to accept playing just a few minutes and watching Ulis play.
I'm fine keeping Dudley instead of Chandler for learning purposes ($3M per chaper, btw). If we can find a taker for Tyson that provides a palatable mix of cap space and draft asset, we should take it, although I can't see a clear destination at this moment. I hope the deadline brings suitors.

We need to keep either Dudley or Chandler on the roster. We need someone to keep the kids in check. I would much prefer Dudley to Chandler in that role, though. We can't do what Philly did and let the kids run the locker room. It would be really bad.

I agree that Dudley should be the guy. Not that Chandler is a bad mentor. He seems to be really good but how many do we need? Especially ones that need minutes.

I felt even stronger about it after listening this week to Woj's podcast with Dudley.

On a 15 person roster, you are guaranteed to have 5 guys who almost never play. 2 or3 of those guys can be vets who understand that their main role is to teach and mentor. of the 10 who are going to play regularly, 2 or 3 can be vets who understand that they aren't going to get big minutes, and their job on court is to put the young guys in a position to succeed. That's still 7 or 8 young guys developing with consistent playing time, and 2 or 3 long shots on the bench who might break out and become good nba players. Plus, you have 2 promising G-leaguers on 2-way contracts.

Developing talent isn't a game of chance. It takes work and time spent in the gym and in the locker room, and around the dinner table. We will get better results giving that time and effort to 10ish young promising guys with 5ish mentors, than if we tell one guy to babysit 14. It's an investment in the guys we draft and sign.

We don't have to pick between Dudley and Chandler for who is going to be our one and only mentor on the roster. They can both provide veteran leadership. If Chandler says he wants a trade to a contender, you try to find one for him; else you keep him and enjoy the benefits of his leadership. Dudley is mostly a locker room guy at this point but can play spot minutes at the swing positions if needed.

We probably do if we ever need/want cap space over the next couple of years. Duds makes 10M and Chandler 13M. Knight is untradeable and moving Bledsoe alone won't be enough to give us much room give TJ's extension.

Givony posted his first mock on ESPN but it's insider now so can't look at it. Boo ESPN for taking our best draft resource away and putting it behind a pay wall.

Is it the 2019 mock that you are talking about? Let me know what you want to know, I have access behind the wall.

It should be 2018.

They've had a 2018 one up for a bit, they put out a 2019 one today.

That one was posted on the 23rd. It has;
1. Bulls - Doncic
2. Hawks - Porter
3. Cavs - Bagley
4. Kings - Ayton
5. Suns - Bamba

16. Suns - Troy Brown.

2018 lottery goes:

Luka Doncic
Michael Porter
Marvin Bagley
DeAndre Ayton
Mohammed Bamba
Miles Bridges
Robert Williams
Collin Sexton
Jaren Jackson
Wendell Carter
Trevon Duval
Bruce Brown
Lonnie Walker
Justin Jackson
5. Phoenix Suns

Mohamed Bamba
Texas
Freshman
C

Bamba has a 7-foot-9 wingspan that would be the longest of any player currently in the NBA. He's a solid basketball player as well, with good hands, impressive timing as a shot-blocker and rebounder and more offensive ability than you might expect. Bamba doesn't always operate at maximum intensity, and there are some question marks about his toughness.

Some NBA scouts feel Bamba is a sleeper to keep an eye on at No. 1, as he has one of the most unique profiles of any prospect in this draft. The glimpses he showed on Texas' tour of Australia last month were impressive
16. Phoenix Suns (via Heat)

Troy Brown
Oregon
Freshman
SG

Thanks to his strong frame and 6-foot-11 wingspan, Brown is a Swiss-army knife who can play anywhere from 1-4. He's a good passer, ball handler and defender with a competitive streak and good feel for the game. He lacks elite athleticism and is a very streaky shooter

Wow. The hype on Doncic is strong. Are there any mocks that have him going #1 outside of fan mocks. The kid is highly skilled and very effective in Europe. But he is average athletically. I think he goes 3.

Yo Ayton is a monster. I like him more than Bagley and Doncic. I haven't made my mind up about Porter.
