He's played 41 and 32 games in the last 2 years, he is known to love his alcohol and partying and showed up to training camp last year looking like he ate continuously through the offseason. I also don't like his attitude. I think his best years are behind him.

That’s a great way double down on your failures as an organization. That would be worst case scenario for me. I’d rather go into next year with the Melton Okobo duo than make a panic move for CP3 or Wall.

Conley is different, he is productive, a leader and only has 2 years left. He’s not my first or second choice but I wouldn’t be upset if we got him without giving up any of my prized assets (Ayton, Booker, Bridges, Oubre).

I agree with this. I like Conley a lot.

In2, are you really floating out the possibility of trading for Wall and his noose of a contract???

He's a player who relied a great deal on his athleticism and just ruptured his achilles - this was after he underwent surgery to repair a "Haglund's deformity and a chronic Achilles tendon injury in his left heel." They could offer their unprotected first round picks in perpetuity and I wouldn't be interested.

Hard pass on Wall and Chris Paul. I'd kick the tires on Rubio, Conley, DInwiddie, Teague, Tyus Johnson, and a couple of others. Lonzo Ball is intriguing: he's either great or horrible at everything.

My guess is that about 4 years from now Wall will have a comeback as a heady veteran PG off the bench who helps a playoff team. But there are going to be a few rough years here where he is getting back into shape and learning what he can and can't do on an NBA court any more. I don't want to pay him $40m/year to babysit him while he goes through that journey. I'll take him off waivers in 4 years when the Wizards or whomever is tired of him.

There are about a 1000 free agent point guards that would be an upgrade to what we rolled out this season. There is no way the Suns can't get one of them.

I hate all the extra garbage he brings to the court. He waste so much time and energy trying to be an irritant; I don't think it adds any value. He is also a fake hustle guy. He also has been injury prone in the past.

I strongly prefer that he never wears a Suns uniform.

Yeah I thought Bev would be a good desperation acquisition last year. But if we enter yet another season without a promising PG and Bev is our vet guard after all that I’ll be disappointed

Some interesting things I heard in Simmons podcast:

He thinks Kemba and KD are going to NY
Jimmy stays in Philly
Kyrie signs with Brooklyn, they trade D-Lo to us for #6
then send #6, Jarrett Allen, Caris Lavert and a future pick or two for AD. He thinks they also sign JJ Reddick.

Interesting tidbit, the recently hired pelicans GM is Trajan Langdon, who last year was an assistant GM for the Brooklyn Nets.

I agree with this. I like Conley a lot.

I think Conley is probably our best bet. He’s not going to mail it in, will make the team both competitive and able to develop our youth. It also allows them to bring in a young PG behind him. Kemba, Kyrie are off the table. I think Brooklyn guards are intriguing and more of a wait and see what happens.

It sounds like Conley is also off the table because of age.

I just don't like D-Lo. Book is enough as a primadonna, we need solid veterans and character guys who just care about working and winning.

Do you know Devin or DLo? If not, I think personal feelings toward players should be discounted. Whether he is a prima dona or not, this team needs talent. This team also needs another playmaker. It feels like a lot of the moves are to fill out those defensive strong character players around Booker and Ayton. Booker has strong character and Ayton is a good guy too. Getting one or more defensive players at PF should happen this summer.

Btw, there is no "perfect" available at PG, not in trades, draft, or FA, imo. You need a big guard that can rebound, play defense on their man, can switch onto bigs, and can cover for any mistakes Devin makes, be a pass first pg, can create for themselves, can shoot on their own, is a high % on spot up 3's, can drive to the basket and convert at high %, low turnover, and is dominate physically.

This is a very important point. I think all of the available options have red flags, which is why I couldn't bring myself to invest a lotto pick or max contract in any of them.

He still runs a website built mostly around the nba, so he is relevant to some extent, but he’s really more of an entertainer than a reporter and kinda always has been. So I would never take anything he says as any kind of indication that he know something. The part that I found most interesting was that former nets assistant gm, Trajan Langdon, is now the pelicans gm. I never really looked at Brooklyn as a possible AD trade spot, but now I am.
