Monty with the starters and Carter to the start the 4th. Obviously wants to see us make a run and get into a groove.

I'll say this for Ayton: I think he's a classic back to the basket, fadeaway big and we're asking him to be a PnR/face up big which he's ill equipped for. I wish Monty would try the starters with Stix or Jones and let Jones dive or Stix pop or dive.

And I am SOOO sick of hearing about the "Verizon 5G" practice facility and what an edge it gives the Suns.
Coach always said, you get good cell phone service, you play well.
That's legit. I'm sure I used that line a time or two.

I like that Bridges has remained aggressive. Before those back to back 3s, he was having a rough night.

Hopefully they can against the Jazz's 3rd and 4th stringers.

Even Carter's screaming at Ayton for not stepping up on the penetration. Ayton just watching. Embarrassing. Play Motley, Stix and Jones.

Even Carter is calling out Ayton now.

Ayton looks gassed. Not saying he hasn’t played soft but he’s clearly not there yet conditioning wise. Everything looks labored. I don’t think he’s the only one either.
Lots of them look gassed. No excuse when you have been there 3 days and you got out worked last game.
Not excusing but it’s clear this so going to be a more of a work progress than many were probably hoping, at least for me. I was kind of hoping for a hot start but that’s clearly wishful thinking. Haha

Gotta respect how Miye Oni has played against Booker.

Carter just barked at Ayton for lack of help on a Jazz player going to the hoop.

I think he is letting Chris coach Ayton too much. I hope he doesn't fall into that habit.

Is the broadcast team of Ray and Drysdale doing this remotely? Sure seems so.

Yeah Ayton has been an absolute embarrassment. Just blowing basic defensive assignments and getting out rebounded. Only way he gets boards in when there is no one within 5 feet. Pathetic

What concerns me is that it was obvious that the team coming into the bubble had jell'd...they knew each other, things were clicking. To take on Chris, they essentially gutted what they had last year...rather than building on things, they tore it down to a large degree and reformed it. Better...worse...tbd yet. I obviously think what we're seeing in these last two games has been a bit of a nightmare. Hopefully they get it together, but one still has to ask with the regression...might the team have been better off adding Haliburton and 10 and using Oubre to go trade for a PF or some such...maybe some of the offseason changes, but less. Shrug, who knows...hope they can figure this out, as these two games have been...rough.

I think so. Certainly sounds like it.

Yeah, but at the same time, Carter's positioning didn't make any sense. Just square up your man and stop the ball.

I totally expect the Suns to be down 3 rotational players every game at this point.

It hasn't been good, but nightmare is an overstatement. Paul didn't play the first game; Saric and Crowder still haven't played.

Jazz 37 FTs, Suns 11. How do you win with that disparity? Not that it was our only issue but all things being equal it is impossible.

It’s preseason folks, there’s a new pg, they’ve had very limited practices, a little patience is still in order.
