Game Day: Warriors (18-2) @ Suns (17-3), Tues 11/30/21
Re: Game Day: Warriors (18-2) @ Suns (17-3), Tues 11/30/21
I had a 6am meeting today and it took me 2 hours last night to calm down enough to even try to sleep.

If that was even close to a typical/average stat line for him last season, he would have a max contract already.

Ya I haven’t been able to watch a lot of games this year so I haven’t commented, but his stats tell a different story than I’ve seen on here

I was peeping at the game with no audio last night and was so confused how Book got hurt because they were showing the 3pt attempt and hurting your hamstring on that had me like wtf man
Also when I peeped Twitter which was like 15mins later at Halftime , top Trending was Poole n Warriors
I was like how Book leaving this game not be Trending

Somebody said Mikal had the Yips
That's a nice way to put it. For myself who have loved the development of Zero Hesitation Mikal....
This was definitely a revert to his indecisiveness of previous seasons. Obviously should be fine going fwd

To me it just feels like he's 1-5 as soon as he enters the game. Then later on he hits one or two 3s and you're like "finally".

I have watched nearly every minute of his this year. I will admit that every time he shoots a 3, I expect him to miss, despite his 38% shooting.ShelC wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 11:56 amTo me it just feels like he's 1-5 as soon as he enters the game. I guess it is kind of the opposite feeling I get when I watch Crowder. When I watch Jae, I expect either 1-7 or 5-7--nothing in between.
But with Shamet I feel like he will go 2-5 every game, and I focus on those 3 misses.

Bridges is quickly elevating to my favorite Suns player. I LOVE watching him on defense. He has looked absolutely tremendous there. Fascinated to see how he does in the rematch against Golden State Friday. I don't even care that he had 2 points last night. His defense is just breathtaking to watch and gets me so hyped up. He does so much on that side of the ball.

Exactly, he was guarding the top scorer in the league and focused on that like he should. Either he was successful at it or Curry just had a bad game. The TNT guys said it was just a bad game for him and didn’t mention bridges having anything to do with it. The Warriors also scored less than 100 for the first time in a long time. I guess they just had a bad game too.

I think Shamet will be fine.
He's around 39% from the arc, and is quicker and more athletic than Moore or Galloway.

He might not be a great defender but he's not a push over. I've seen him battle and stay in front of his guy. He's even had a few recovery blocks.LazarusLong wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 2:00 pmI think Shamet will be fine.

I love Mikal as much as anyone
His on ball defense on Curry was superb but like he said in the press conference it is very much a team accomplishment
It's not like Harden who goes 1v1
All that running around over screens Curry does, we had to be on a string and others would switch off once he got a half step on Mikal
That was my fav part, the communication by everyone

Knew Bridges could do what he did, was very encouraging to see Ayton be able to play up at the level of the screen and switch onto steph and play very well. Saw a stat that Curry shot 1/12 with Ayton or Bridges as the closest defender.

How many guys can play 41.5 minutes of a 48 minute game, score only 2 points, and have a Net +/- of +34 in an 8 point game?AmareIsGod wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 1:53 pmBridges is quickly elevating to my favorite Suns player. I think my problem with Shamet is, it feels like he is worse than his stats if you watch him closely. I think maybe the reason is that he gets a lot of good looks and open shots and just bricks them. A lot of other guys like Booker or CP3 might shoot a lower percentage, but they've got a defender in their face, they're pulling up for 3s off the dribble, at the end of quarters, etc. Shamet gets these great passes right into his chest, he has a wide open look for a 3, ... and he misses. It just feels like he misses shots he should make. By contrast, whenever Cam Johnson pulls up for an open 3 I expect it to go in. Now Cam does miss plenty, too, and some nights he's just way off. But something about Cam's stroke makes me think every next shot is going to be the one that goes in. With Shamet it just feels like it's going to clank out and I'm always surprised when it does go in. Don't know how else to explain it.

I think I figured it out. Shamet looks like this guy Kyle I worked with when I was younger. One of the most annoying guys I ever knew.

It's the kind of stat line he has in important games.

Yes, he used to seal his man on the low block and would sometimes struggle to get a good shooting angle. Now he's found a position (center of the lane) where he's comfortable shooting the short hook or jumper.ShelC wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 5:47 amGreat game by DA. Maybe his best of the season? Was a force from the start on both ends, really impacted the game inside and held his own when switched on the perimeter. Monty mentioned him doing a better job sealing and making himself a bigger target and it's been showing the last few games. He gets deep in the center of the paint to where all he has to do is turn and put in a soft flip shot, which he's great at.
