If Jones lets Sarver talk him into trading Ayton to avoid paying him the max, then the new owner needs to fire Jones no matter how many years are left on his contract.

I'm not sure what you're saying here. Sarver is Jones' boss. If Sarver were to demand it, Jones only choices would be to do it or quit. Who's this new owner you reference?

I consider it the GM's job to say no to the owner when he wants to do something stupid or that is clearly not in the best basketball interest of the team. Sarver claims that he gives the GM authority to make decisions. If I were Jones I would rather quit or be fired then go along with it.
The new owner is whoever replaces Sarver. There's no way he's surviving the NBA's investigation.

I'm not sure how you made that leap. The investigation hasn't even been completed yet. This is America. Innocent until proven guilty.

Not very many people are willing to up and quit their job, to become unemployed and stop getting paychecks to support their family, over some policy disagreement with their boss. Especially when there are literally only 29 other such positions in the world.
As for Sarver, I think he's more likely to remain as Suns owner than be somehow ousted or forced to sell. We'll see what they turn up, but it isn't easy to remove an NBA owner.

That was a bad trade…Kerr did some stupid stuff for us as GM…he gets forgotten because the people around him were so much worse, but he made some pretty questionable moves as well.

I don’t think Shaq is necessarily wrong. We don’t have that guy that can get unconscious. Though Booker did it a few times in the playoff, and he may end up being a wade/rondo type that does it in the playoffs rather than the regular season. However, we saw what it took for another to knock this team out and that was four games of unconscious play from one of the five best players in the league. And this year that task will be even harder to complete. But yes, sometimes I do wish we had a Tare Young or Ja Morant.

If Shaq doesn't think we have any players who strike fear in the heart of opponents, he should watch some film of Book and CP3 destroying team after team in the last 2 minutes of games this year and last year.

I agree with the point Shaq is trying to make. The Suns don't have that one "unstoppable" guy, and I think there's really only been one team in the last 20 years that won a title with that formula, the 2004 Detroit Pistons. (Ironically a team that beat Shaq's Lakers.)
For the Suns to win a title this season, they'll need to add someone soon to raise the floor of their rotation, or Ayton or Bridges will need to take a substantial leap in their offensive output.
Don't get me wrong, they're contenders and we all know how luck can factor into any given series, but Shaq is right in that none of the other contenders are "scared" of the Suns right now.

I’d add the ‘14 Spurs and ‘11 Mavs to your list. We have a lot in common with both those teams.

2011 Mavs had Dirk who was more unstoppable than anyone on the Suns because of his size. Booker and Paul can match him in skill but they can be contained more than Dirk.
2014 Spurs, you're probably right. That roster was ridiculously talented in retrospect. These Suns aren't as loaded right now.
