Ya I think I’m on the same page as you…I just don’t think Ayton is that valuable
I’m scared he’s our John Collins. On the trade block every year with everyone low balling us to death and can’t trade him for shit. Value keeps getting worst.

Wally, you need to unfollow all those accounts you picked up during the summer of KD dreams. Just let it go man...

I think we're at the point where Bridges contract is not a fair place marker. He's already met the production and development level to merit the contract value, and we're approaching it being on the best value contracts in the league.
I think that is only true while he is in the midst of his best streak of games of his career. This wasn't true a month ago. This wasn't true last year in the playoffs. If Scrimmage Bridges is here to stay, then I think we can arrive at your evaluation. But until then, taking last season and all of this season into account, he has been a valuable but expensive role player.
It wasn't true a month ago during one of the worst stretches of his career that happened to coincide with being tasked to carry the team for the first time. He was also likely carrying an injury and fought through it.

You can't tell me you're not encouraged by the development he's shown recently. Bringing the ball up under pressure against good defenders, the shot creating and making, still just as disruptive on the defensive perimeter... Then again, you've kinda always been a wet blanket when it came to Mikal, so I guess it would make sense for you to not believe he's going to outplay his contract value.
Yes, I am encouraged, and no, I am not making any definitive statements. I'm not making any predictions about the future, positive or negative. I'm just saying, he is in a great stretch right now after going through one of his worst stretches ever. I'm just not ready to redefine what type of player he is or what level of player he is based on this great stretch of play.

What if it’s Ayton for OG and FVV…how many picks would you give up for that?

I’m not a huge FVV guy, but that loads up our guard and wing rotations. Then you can try and move Crowder for a big.
I suggested Ayton and Cam Payne 2 1st for FVV and OG and then use Crowder to get Poeltl on the previous page and everyone shitted on me lmao

They shitted on me too for sayin Ayton and 3 1st for Siakim but y’all definitely trippin on that one. That’s more than fair a deal.
I wouldn't mind trading Ayton, Payne, Crowder and 3 1sts and come back with FVV, OG, and Poeltl. I think the team would be much better and ready to compete for a title.

I'm encouraged that you're encouraged.

I just don't see how he can't hit this current level more consistently going forward. It's never been about effort with him, deferring to Paul and Booker has been his biggest hurdle. Of course it won't be all sunshine and roses, but he's too smart and determined to backslide into a 4th option type, IMO.

You’d be ecstatic if we drafted players as good as FVV, OG, and Poeltl with our next 3 picks

I don't like making trade predictions. But I am worried that the team's FO and new ownership will want to do something "splashy" and will go get some interesting players but give up a bunch of draft assets in the process.

That’s a silly argument.

We’re not paying our next 3 picks $50+ million in combined salaries.

That’s gross asset mismanagement.

We can get better for 3 picks than role players.

You package 3 picks, better be for a top 25 player at least.

I’m still shitting

I think the chances of it happening this deadline are pretty slim. This summer, however, is when I expect significant roster changes.

I don’t really prescribe to that. If someone is gonna give me 3 high level starters, even if they aren’t stars, I’ll gladly do that for 3 1sts.

I get that it limits our ability to make big moves in the future, but not really when you think about it. OG is going to maintain a lot of value. We would be loaded with good players.

If someone tried to trade for Ayton, CamJ and Mikal with 3 future 1sts that are all likely to be late 1sts, we’d laugh at them…that’s kinda what this deal is. We have to give up Ayton, but I really don’t care about that.

Where is the money gonna come from pay all these dudes? You need cheap young talent, not shitty UDFA types to round out your roster, otherwise you get stuck like the Lakers or us. Can't just blow first rounders on decent players.

I agree that multi first round picks need to net a legit nba star who wants out or someone you are almost certain will become one.

I know it sounds gross, but we are improving 3 positions/players, imo. The idea is to win a chip, and they are all relatively still young and in their primes. I don't trust Payne or Ayton & Jae doesn't do anything for the team anymore.

Ishbia is where the money is gonna come from. You’d have FVV, CP3, Booker, Bridges, Cam, OG, and Poeltl all under contract or holding their rights. That’s 7 guys. Shamet would also still be under contract and then you’d have exceptions, vet mins, and bird rights(Biyombo, Landale, Saric) to fill out the roster.

FVV/Book/Bridges/OG/Poeltl with
CP3/Lee/CamJ/Saric/Biyombo off the bench
Lee/Shamet/Okogie/Craig/Landale the deep bench.

I think that’s a team that could win a title. You don’t have the ideal #2 next to Book, but you’re loaded with #3/#4 guys. FVV, CP3, and Book can all create offense. We’ve seen the improvements of Mikal and we’d also have OG. A Mikal/OG defensive lineup would be lethal. FVV is a good defender as well and Poeltl is a solid drop defender…though he could get played off in a 5-out situation.

We’d have a Booker/Bridges/CamJ/OG switch everything lineup that could add FVV or CP3 for offense or add Okogie for defense or Poeltl/Biyombo for size.

It doesn’t make us favorites, but it gives us a better chance than currently and the guys are young enough that we’d maintain value through those 1sts we give up.

I’m obviously guessing here but I’m willing to bet Ishbia is down to just straight up buy late 1st and 2nd round picks.
