Is there a way to block posts containing certain words? Like for instance I didn’t want to see cuss words and block posts with the F word in it? I don’t care about cussing. I want to block the word Ayton. He was traded and isn’t coming back. Nurkic is our Center now. Jeremy, are you going to spend the entire year bashing Nurkic out of spite? That’s going to get old real fast.
200%.
But 5 years of constant bashing of our center by 90% of the forum did not get old?
Gotta let Nurkic play before you bash him. He'll get his fair share of hate as does everyone when they play poorly. It's just nobody sticks up for the other guys like you did for Ayton. Nobody is beyond criticism.
What 99.9% on here feel.... Nobody ever got better by being patted on the back when they didn't deserve it. "Success" only comes before "Work" in the dictionary.
It sucks. We have to deal with this Ayton shit every thread now. We get excited about the team, about the abilities of Nurkic and it gets twisted into "but he's not that good at 'x', no better than Ayton who we all slandered for years". Just shut up and let us talk about THIS team. I'm about ready to just stick to Reddit and X for Suns convo.
Maybe Marty can make a new user group with a hidden forum... Used to do it with all my old gaming clans (yea.. I'm a nerd) and worked like a charm keeping the riff raff out.
You know I have love for both of you guys. But I think your diagnosis of this situation and your proposed ways of dealing with it are off target. You're complaining that another user is talking about a topic you don't want to hear about and/or repeating an opinion you disagree with, and your proposed solutions to this are:
(a) telling the user to STFU,
(b) threating to leave, and
(c) asking if I can make a secret second web site that you can go post in.
Honestly you don't need to take any such extreme measures. I would not want either of you to leave, and I don't want to fragment the site or make areas to separate people from each other.
If you don't want to hear messages from a given user, click on that user at right, and then choose "Add Foe." If the user is your "foe", you won't see their messages. You will see if another user quotes them, but trust me, it'll greatly reduce the volume of messages that you'll find annoying.
The other thing you can do is just scroll past messages you don't want to see or read. You see somebody posting about Ayton again, you can just skip the message. In particular, you don't need to reply to rebut a message you disagree with or find annoying. Replying adds fuel to the fire, makes it take longer for the topic to be dropped.
Also, if we just wait a few more days, we're going to have actual Sun basketball content to talk about. Things always get a little testy in the offseason when there are no games and not much news to chew on. Once we start actually playing, that'll become the primary topic of discussion. We can do this.

I think we're making headway in this area. It was Split who came up with the idea to only mention our former center's name in his dedicated thread or when we are playing his team during the game day threads. AIG and I have signed off on that. I don't think it's something we can make as a general rule but hopefully other posters will follow suit.

I'm cool with the setup. I'll just add him as a foe and reduce seeing his posts. Easy enough for me to skip over Ayton posts.

The difference is I feel all y’all should STFU, not just one person. You’ve all got terrible takes
