They need to shrink it to a 8 man rotation.

Bron, Curry, Book, Durant, Holiday, Jrue, Ant, Bam, AD

Tatum’s shot is off and he’s being outplayed on defense. He’s a great player, but he’s in a slump in a time where you don’t have enough games or minutes to work through it.
I feel like his playing style is not well suited to an uber talented roster where he’s not the clear alpha. He tends to hold and pound the ball and find his rhythm that way rather than be a 0.5 seconds kind of guy.
Nope, that's not a good excuse. Booker has been the same way but has modified his game for the Olympics.
Interesting that you took that comment as an excuse.
But isn't it? When you are a part of a team of superstars, you have to adjust your play style to fit in.
It might be an excuse if I’m trying to defend him, which I am not. I have no interest in him or the Celtics. I was simply making an observation about his playing style. Never said that other players did or did not make adjustments or try to compare anybody to him.

This Steph performance was an absolute joy to watch. GOAT shooter, no doubt about it.

The last one was ridiculous and magical. That's what tens of thousands of hours of practice culminated in.

Was incredible to watch on the world stage. Just wish they had a few more games to play... They just got better the more they played together.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Lebron and KD play another one, but if they don't... Man I'd love to see them with Kyrie in the 3x3.

I never really got caught up in the Book v Tatum stuff but it is nice seeing the tide turn in favor of Book after the Olympics. Tatum's still a great player obviously, but fans know all of these guys can score the ball and do their thing in the NBA. Taking a step back on offense, doing the dirty work and being a glue guy was huge for this kind of team and Book embraced it and thrived. Fans will always respect that.

I do wonder how the 2028 team will shake out. Edwards had his moments scoring the ball but I generally wasn't impressed with his play. Tatum never looked comfortable in this setting and I'm not sure Haliburton is a good fit for the FIBA game either. Maybe Tatum will takeover as a main scoring option next time around, which was something that couldn't happen this time. Maybe Book will be a guy who takes on the scoring role. Just seems like there's a lack of generational talent at the moment - no Kobe, KD, LBJ, Melo, Wade types.

Some of our would-be generational talent play for other nations. Jokic, Giannis, Luka to name a few.

You have Chet Holmgren and Cooper Flagg waiting in the wings. I'm sure there are others too. Team USA should be fine.

Good call... Those two came to mind when I was thinking of youth they could bring in. Brunson too.

Jalen Brunson is older than Booker iirc.

You are correct sir.... I thought he was a lot younger for some reason. I'd still take him on the team if we lost Steph ;)

Haliburton/Ant/Book/Tatum/Bam
Brunson/Maxey/Flagg/Paolo/Chet

Leave two spots for surprise risers(Cunningham, Barnes, Mobley, Thompson, Scoot) or surprise hanger ons(KD, Lebron, Curry, AD, Embiid)…also maybe someone like Ja or Zion.

Flagg will be a 2nd/3rd yr NBA player in 2028. Maybe he'll be a super special talent but he'll still be very young at that point. Chet should be on the team, I expect Brunson to be there. But again, where's the uber-generational talent? Serbia and France played us very tough and we needed all of LBJ, KD and Curry in those games.

Probably looking at something like Brunson, Fox, Book, Ant, Tatum, maybe Jaylen Brown, maybe Mikal, Chet...Ja? Paolo? Jaren Jackson? Mobley? Hali? KD/AD if they're around?

Hali is just not that good. Keep him off.

Was thinking about Ball, maybe Brandon Miller too if he keeps progressing. Donovan Mitchell? Scottie Barnes? Barnes could be a key guy because with FIBA you need a lot of versatility. I just keeping looking at that list and thinking about 2004 when it was "stars" who were scorers and not much else. Spo probably takes over the team too, so he'll know who to take over there.
