FIFA has supposedly told the US Soccer Federation to prepare to host the 2022 World Cup. Qatar will be stripped.

I don't know if it's gotten that far yet, but it does seem like the (greased) wheels are starting to spin.

First game, first ref making key calls in favor of Brazil. Business as usual for the home team in the WC. 2014 Brazil is no juggernaut though.

^ RT @dandrezner: Somewhere, someone is calling a World Cup bookie saying, "it is done."

Giving Qatar the WC didn't make any sense in the first place. Too damn hot during the summer over there... Might as well play in the Death Valley in August
FIFA officials got bribed for sure, I hope some get fired.
They can also fire that japanese ref from the first game while they're at it... Talk about home cooking!

Appalling ref!
Brazil will be beatable, but only if the refs do their job.
Blotter is determined for the 2022 to stay in Quatar just so he keeps his slice of the pie him and his mates are all in for.
I hope the inquirerey does it's job but I know a lot of evidence isn't being looked at as it came out after he had he 'remit' to inspect certain things. You could say white wash and you will be close.

Its upwards of 120ยบ in the summer in Qatar, so unless they build domed stadiums, it's not realistic to even consider that sand pit. Blatter needs to go away and take all his goons with him.

Mexico has looked solid today despite the refs robbing them of 2 goals with terrible offsides calls.

Looks like Spain might not even make it out of the group stage... Insane!
Let's see if Chile can make it happen...

Ugh. What a hideous second half. Pique, Ramos and especially Casillas played like amateurs. Xavi was a ghost and Netherlands won every 50/50 ball and displayed amazing effort. Robben had a monster game and RVP showed his killer instinct. Amazing game by Netherlands.

Ouch!
Looks like they didn't see it coming...
Casillas "
We're going to fight for our 2nd WC"
Del Bosque "
We fear no one"

It's been a tough hit, no doubt, but remember that Spain also started the 2010 WC losing to Suiza. It doesn't look good though, that's for sure.

i've never seen a player head that ball like van persie (at least not while playing pro evolution soccer). and that last robben goal was kinda selfish (he has an open teammate at the side).
