Am I the only one who thinks we match up better against Milwaukee now than we did prior to the trade? Who is guarding Beal and Book on that squad? I’m a little more concerned about where Jrue lands. Not sure I buy the Bucks being the favorites to win the title.
Couple of days ago in the trade thread:
Bucks are going to have to be a different kind of team now. I love Giannis and Dame as an offensive combo, but losing Jrue and having Middleton lose some of his mojo post-injury, they can't really be anything like the same kind of perimeter defensive nightmare that they were in the championship year. I'd even say they don't have anybody who could seriously slow down Book or Beal right now, if you're assuming that Giannis is occupied with Durant.

Great analysis! Jrue was so bothersome whenever he would guard either Book or Paul. Their perimeter defense will suffer greatly with the loss of him as well as Allen. Beal and Book will feast on them and make Lillard work hard defensively. I have to admit that I do like how we stack up against them, but I will acknowledge that Dame and Giannis are an awesome pairing. I’m just not convinced they have the right pieces around them to really maximize that duo.

I’m kinda shocked he’ll be back in 6 weeks with torn ligaments…. Those things can be nagging if you don’t fully let them heal and may be an issue all season for him.

Well, it will be interesting to see if they start 3 guards now with Steph, Klay, and CP3.

I think my biggest concern about this team is that we basically have no PG and no (good) C. And those are two important positions. We don't really have any bigs to speak of, who will be part of the rotation. We just have a bunch of swings and wings and tweeners. I guess you can put together a good team that way, but I think in the playoffs when so many games come down to getting one bucket in the clutch or getting one stop, it'll be hard to do that with no PG to make plays and no elite C to guard the paint.

Amazing what I get in return for this labor

To the fans, man I love you, its unconditional
Reasons for me leaving the citys nothing typical
So it's imperative not to believe the narrative
Just know that what I left is better than what I inherited
I leave at peace because I know at the end that this is business
Hope you remember all of the things you got to sit and witness
In the future man, I hope that we greet with hugs and kisses
But you should know that they the ones who chose another mission

I still really like Dame but his image/rep took a hit this summer. Not sure if it was all him or if he was getting bad advice but it's time to put up or shut up. I think he's a bigtime player so I'm expecting him to do big things in Milwaukee.

Nurkic and Eubanks will both definitely be apart of the rotation. And we were at our best in the playoffs when we took the ball out of our pg’s hands and gave it to Booker. Booker is our pg and he’s a very good one.

Well done Portland.

Boston v Milwaukee in the east is gonna be a fun one.

Wonder if Timelord lets Ayton play the PF position he's always felt he was, gonna be cramped.

So Portland turned Dame, Nurkic, Keon Johnson and Little into Ayton, Williams, Brogdon and 3 firsts.

I sure am glad we’d only have to concern ourselves with just one of Milwaukee and Boston on our quest for a title. The question now is, which one is it?

Would be interesting to see what the clips Knicks lakers put up for Brogdon. I would look into Rob Williams if I’m the grizzlies or bulls.

Sounds like Blazers want to keep Williams. Wonder if he’ll split time with Ayton or if they can play together..

Boston-Milwaukee will be an awesome playoff series. A Denver-Phoenix and Boston-Milwaukee conference finals would be perfect.

Clippers have been linked to Brogdon recently, and that was prior to this trade. It would not surprise me to see him end up there. Portland just continues to collect assets from the Dame trade. It was undoubtedly in their best interest not to trade him to Miami.

Asset-wise, good trade for Portland. But they are assembling pieces that don't really make sense together. Ayton and Williams? Scoot and Brogdon? Seems like they may be wanting to flip some of these guys for even more picks.
