What about Bol Bol?
Bol Bol has potential. But you have no clue what you’re going to get. He may turn into an asset or he may not.

WCJ is a better basketball player than Ayton. I don't need stats. I have eyeballs.

If he was a better basketball player on a terrible team his stats should be through the roof.

The question of course is - why would Orlando give up anything for a slight improvement at center at a triple the salary?

That is a very good question and I don't have an answer other than trying to lacerate the Isaac tumor growing out of their neck.

FWIW, any deal with Indiana can't be completed until July 14th or 15th.

And sacrifice their best point guard.

Lol. It's exactly how basketball works. And you're ignoring the sacrifices Ayton has had to make on a team like Phoenix.

My favorite sacrifices were the defense and effort.

Mine too. We wouldn’t have gotten to the Finals without it.

I do! And then, funny thing, he got a big long-term contract and then mostly stopped playing hard on a consistent basis. I've heard this is a thing that happens to players sometimes. Weird, huh?

The rumor didn’t have any of their guards in it…

https://www.masslive.com/celtics/2023/0 ... ities.html
The Celtics have no interest in an Ayton deal per a league source due to his pricy contract so any scenario that involves Brogdon going to Phoenix now is dead without a third team getting involved.

I saw one that was WCJ and Fultz. It was posted in one of these threads.

I think that was just a poster wanting that…the actual rumor said Orlando was offering WCJ/Isaac/Bol

I'm pretty sure the Fultz/Suggs part was just podcasters coming up with stuff to talk about and not based on much insider information.

Imagine if he tried.
And imagine how high his field goal percentage would be if he dunked the ball.

WCJ is better than Ayton.
By what standard?
Stats last year are honestly very similar. Ayton took a few more shots and scored a little more. He had a slightly higher rebound rate. Blocks and steals about the same. WCJ has a higher assist rate.

I like that WCJ can shoot 3’s and has a little more juice as a playmaker. He also costs 1/3rd the price. So give me that and I’ll take the extra assets on top of that.
Ayton has much more talent and potential than WCJ. Monty wouldn’t let him shoot 3’s. And I wouldn’t call Isaac an “asset.”
I wouldn't let him shoot threes either. The further out from the hoop, the flatter his shot is.
