You trade KD for Butler because of 2 reasons

1. It’s not working and you need a change
2. You’ll get draft capital in return as well.

Also Booker probably not interested in a blow up.

Problem is your aggregating contracts for the suns…need Nurk and Grayson’s salary to get him and we’re not allowed to do that. Would have to be Beal

Sure I get that. Are you sure they can't route these types of deals through several prior steps to find loopholes? I mean, if Beal isn't getting traded, I don't really know how much of this stuff happens at all. Yet we keep hearing about it, so I'm led to believe there are paths to make it happen.

Premise would be that Butler adds a dimension we lack with toughness on defense and attacking the rim on offense. I'd be tempted if it was a wider deal where Durant goes to a third team, MIA gets the expirings they seem to want, and we get additional assets to cover the delta between Butler and Durant. The issue to me would be the contract extension Butler would get from Ishbia.

Fine by me if I was Riley. I can't lose. My team is doing just ok without Butler and all the distractions, and next summer I'll have either a cancer gone or an expiring contract. Beal is just a NO if I am MIA.
