It depends on who the Knicks think they can get in free agency. If they get a star, it's totally worth the player and pick. Would you trade Frank + #9 for Cousins? I'm not saying it is going to for sure happen, but I do think it is possible. The Knicks are never shy about dumping long term assets to sign a big name free agent.
The problem is timing. By draft night they can't know who they'd be getting, or even if they'd be getting anyone. Moving the #9 and a nice prospect for such uncertainity would be very Dolan-esque, but with Porzingis injuried this season would be wasted anyway. Better wait, tank hard, get a high pick in '19 and Porzingis back, let Frank develop and build from there.

DeAaron Fox isn't a point guard and honestly isn't that talented.
There's a hot take. He's the best young PG in the league, IMO.
I liked Fox more coming out of college, but I'm not sure he's a PG either. He's quick, athletic, and can handle the ball, but he's a little lacking in the passing and shooting department. I thought he could turn into Mike Conley but now he looks like he could maybe be Dennis Schroeder?

Doncic, Booker and Jackson all facilitate on the perimeter with Doncic the primary ball handler and Jackson secondary. Jackson and Bamba are the defensive anchors on the perimeter and interior, respectively. Bender would need to be the stretch 4 who can be a secondary shotblocker. He'd be the xfactor or need to be replaced.

Been watching some Lonnie Walker and while I haven't been a huge fan, I think I'm changing my tune. He's a great athlete, will be able to defend both backcourt positions and can really shoot. He's got some poor shot selection and he's much better in catch and shoot situations right now, but he's got a nice handle. I think he'll learn to shoot off the dribble in time. He's not a PG though, so he becomes more valuable if Doncic is the pick at 1. I think Philly takes a long look at him, he'd be great with Simmons.

I hear you, but we are the worst team in the league offensively. There is plenty to be taken by competent players. And Jackson can't be considered a primary ballhandler at the moment (I believe it will come in time). Anyway, with those four you just need a stretch PF and 3D role players.

This is true. He takes shots off balance (that somehow vaguely remind me of LeBron) but he can make them. Floater game also interesting. And doesn't lack creativity in layups. Just needs to pick up his spots better and let his body grow.
