2-4, 6 and First Contact. You don't miss much by skipping the rest.

There is a fan-edit of Star Trek V that trims it down to "pilot episode" length and removes the more offensive and cheesy parts, and the result is, in my opinion, one of the best Trek films out there.

Get with the program, dude! ;) Hey, I can't help it if I've been in tune with Watson from the start. TOO and I say welcome aboard!

That's the starting lineup for the season.
That includes after PJ's return?

Yes.
Watson also made it seem as if P.J. Tucker, once healthy, will be a bench guy.

Tucker is two weeks removed from back surgery with a return pegged for, or just following, the start of the regular season.

“T.J. is the best available small forward for us right now. He’s going to have a great year. He’s done great in training camp,” Watson said. “We can’t wait for P.J. Tucker to get back, so we have another decision to make, but right now, we’re living in the moment.”

Now that I read the quote, I'm not sure where the author of the article assumed PJ will return to the bench. But yeah.

Good work, coach. We don't need to go into this season with unresolved questions over roles.

Fingers crossed that Knight has a great season off the bench.

How crazy is it that we are gushing about a coach because he just did the minimum requirements of his job?

It shows the level of distrust we have for the organization. It's been a few years since we had back to back good personnel decisions.

Come on. The coach did what we all wanted. He has given Booker the nod, made Knight the 6th man and it seems he is also instilling discipline. Since PJ is injuried, he very well could have gone with a lineup of Bledsoe, Knight and Booker, which basically everybody dreaded. Instead he is going to use Warren.

Maybe it was just common sense, and in the general scheme of things we deserve better (do we?) than needing to be relieved if the coach applies what seems like a foregone conclusion, but I'll take it and move on to the next issue.

Me. I think at the very least the coach should have a vision for the team, and let training camp decide who best fits that vision, and what role. That is the beginning, and should be easy. Everything after that is hard (all of the adjustments, management of egos, winning games).

And most importantly, in our case, player development.

If the guys on rookie contracts are playing well, and particularly if they're showing month-over-month improvement, I think Watson will be a pretty popular guy around here even if the win-loss record is ugly.

It sounds like you're saying that is all he's done in his job is the minimum. I didn't know you were such an insider with the team. ;) I personally am thrilled with his family atmosphere and how he's getting everybody to buy into a team concept where it's not about individual stats but what's best for the entire team. He's getting them to play for each other versus getting their own. That's huge.

Not likely. I don't need a cheerleader. I'd rather have a dick for a coach who wins than a fan favorite coach who loses.

C'mon now. Cap is talking about prioritizing player development over winning now with the vets. Most of us would prefer to watch the young guys go through some growing pains over seeing the vets soak up all the minutes and get us to our max potential of 48 wins.

I'm one of the biggest Watson skeptics. But I like what he's said and done about the lineups so far. That is very encouraging.

Suns Knight Accepting of New Role

http://arizonasports.com/story/852941/s ... -man-role/

"I respect Earl. Earl did an excellent job of letting me know ahead of time,” said Knight. “He’s (a) straightforward, honest guy and I love him for that. That’s the reason I want to play for Earl, ’cause a lot of coaches wouldn’t handle it that way. I appreciate the way Earl handled it and I respect him a lot for that.”

I'm on that Watson bandwagon. The Kool-aid is ice cold in the passenger seat.

Based on that quote it seems he's handling it well, but is disappointed in the decision.

I'd like him to see it as an opportunity. There's no shame in backing up a couple of studs like Bledsoe and Booker. If Knight goes out and shows his game is on the same level as Bledoe and Booker, he'll be a strong contender for 6MOY. And that, unlike Almost an All-Star in the East, comes with an actual trophy.
