Wow. Darius Adams with the big finish for Vitoria while Bogdan was on the bench resting. 41 - 40 at the half for Fener barely hanging on with the lead. Vitoria bigs are in foul trouble tough. Bogdan I have counted has 7 points 2-3 assists, rebounds and the early 3 turns. The Italian commentator spoke about him beeing very mature for his age and a leader for the team.

You haters should listen to it. Good stuff. One of the highlights was Watson and Booker both vacationing in California so Watson set up a practice session and Baron Davis joined in to impart his knowledge. Watson has had to deal with adversity his whole life and he has proven time and again that he is up for it. My prediction is that Watson will change your perception of him in a favorable manner by the all-star break. Mark it down!
But but but... He's not the almighty Luke Walton!
No, that's not the problem! We should have interviewed 50 candidates and THEN hired him because that would make him a better hire.
Wh knows? someone better may have come along. . .
And they might have hired him instead of us.
At the very least, you should read the menu before ordering at a new restaurant.
Touche. Actually. I don't read the menu. I ask the waiter to tell me what the best thing served there is, and I order that.

Bogdan disappeared a bit in the third. Vitoria leads by two after 3 on a three point bank shot by Bouroussis.

Our own Steph Curry! Can't wait for him to come over so Coach Earl can whisper sweet nothings in his ear

Most important quotes from the interview.
"We have too much talent in the back court. . . said no coach ever." He obviously doesnt care about having too much depth at a position. He will just determine who is the best player and determine roles appropriately.
"You are going to have to compete for your position." (in the context of Brandon Knight saying nothing changes). BK is not going to be handed the starting job. but neither is Booker.
"We could get a #1 pick, who plays that position, next month and we could be talking another player[instead]." He basically just said that if they get a star level rookie, he could start.
"[roles] and they will be defined, one by one in front of the whole group." No one is going to be able to say that he is confused about his role [Archie]. Everyone on the team will know what everyone's role will be.
He uses the word "love" alot. I think I know what he means, but it still sounds odd coming from a basketball coach. Watson talks alot. And he talks alot of touchy feely coach speak stuff. I am not as impressed with that. I am certainly willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and the player's endorsement, especially vet players, means something to me. We will see.

That's all the coaching a Steph Curry needs right. I think Watson doesn't deserve beeing bashed just yet. I was pleased with the way the Suns played the last 15 games. I'm willing to give him a chance. It's not his fault the suns hired him full time without looking for alternatives.

This sounds great in theory, right? You know what the risk is? Seasons and individual performance fluctuate a lot and if the coach actually goes about this agora style, the moment one player starts to struggle with his given role or deviates from it, the HC will be held accountable for his words by the peers who are getting less minutes, touches or whatever, and they will start to demand their shot at it. Not saying it will happen for sure or that Watson can't handle it (actually the vibe I get from him when he talks is that of a sergeant, despite all the love and stuff). Just that it can backfire mightly.

Guy is so clutch. I am eager to bring him over. Actually he is almost the main reason as to why I want to trade Knight as soon as possible.

To me,this way actually have better chances to work, that going underground and let the team guessing why somebody has green light to shoot, or so, and it would be very healthy that if some player is not living up to their asigned role/oportunity, someone else could raise his hand and ask for a revision, altough this obviously depends on how he does it, and how the coaching staff takes and process such input.
The key is how it gets executed, how much detail you give agora style, how much you let the players participate in such role definition, and how much input you complement in private to say a few. Some of the things Watson says, shows that he puts lots of atention on the causes around the locker room turning into a trainwreck, some of this topics were talked vastly around here, with a big concern on how it was posible that Hornacek wasn't aware of it.
Maybe Jeff was too stubborn, or too blind, but Watson looks right on spot in identifying some issues on the team and is already taking measures against some particular issues, so no surprise if this is maybe why the FO decided to skip the interview process. The real challenge for everyone involved in this bet, it will be to actually walk the talk.
Obviously he is not Luke Walton, but looks encouraging how he talks.

I wouldn't try to overthink this. If the situation demands a change in roles, then the roles will change. I assume he would then tell the players about the change. It is really not hard to figure out how to handle this from a leadership perspective.
