I am assuming Melo is negative value at this point. If not, this will not make sense.

They can't make us take Melo because he has a no trade clause. Doubt we're on the list of teams he's approved.

We could buy him out. He would go for that. It would cost about $40 million, but if they take back BK the real hit would only be half that. I doubt Sarver has that much laying around though.

I think Beasley's finally off the books, so we need somebody else to pay not to play for a few years. A Melo buyout would meet that need. Or we could just keep BK around as a $14M/yr practice player.

The Knicks aren't trading kristaps. He's under contract for 3 more years minimum(2 more rookie years and a QO) He may have some issues with the team, but they've got plenty of time to sort it out. Also, booker and #4 would be the starting point in any trade discussions.

Doug and Wolf talked about this this morning. I'm not a huge fan of Doug and his trade proposals, but he seems to think that taking back Melo and his contract could allow the Suns to get away with trading only the Miami '20-'21 1st and possibly a 2nd rounder this year with an agreement to buyout Melo's contract and we could get Kristaps in the deal. I know this wont work, just because the salaries are too lopsided and the Suns aren't quite that far under the cap, I believe. Hey, I'm all for getting Porzingis by being a conduit for a salary cap dump. I guess this would allow the Knicks to add their pick and be a big player in free agency, but other than that I can't think of why they would do that.

Obviously, not giving up Bledsoe, Warren, Bender, the #4 or anyone and any other significant asset would be a huge win for the Suns and expedite their rebuild. Couldn't hardly ask for a better, even if it seems unrealistic to say the least.

Again, Melo has a NTC and I don't think Phoenix was on the list of cities he'd sign off on for a trade.

Agreed, but that's why I also mentioned that an agreement to buy out his contract, so he could go anywhere he wanted without a salary cap problem would be a part of the deal.

The key would be the pre agreed upon buyout of melo's contract, giving him the freedom to pick his next team, I'm thinking he'd choose Cleveland.

Still, I see no reason for NY to give up on kristaps. He's a stud, he's under team control for 3 years, and they can get more than a 2021 1st and a melo dump.

Fun to think about though, a Bled/Booker/Jackson/Chriss/Porzingis starting lineup would be awesome, not to mention Ulis/Warren/Bender off the bench with Duds and Chandler the vet influence. I think that team makes the playoffs and jumps ahead of Minny/Milwaukee/Philly as the best up and coming team.

We could make it work if they would take BK. We would have to throw Bender in I think.

If Porzingis is really available, I'd offer Warren, bender, #4 and both Miami picks for him and melo's contract. Booker/Chriss/Porzingis is a super legit core to build on. We could keep bled or try and trade him for a lotto pick(to take fox) only thing missing is a 3 and D wing.

It is fun to think about. NY would be nuts to consider giving up Porzingis. But we would be nuts to consider Booker, as some have suggested that is where the discussion would start.

I have a really hard time saying that Chriss is already considered to be in anyone's list of "super legit core to build on." And this is from a guy that really loved what he was bringing the last two months of the season.

That's fair, in reality, it's the booker/Porzingis duo that is really exciting. And we'd still have Bledsoe. Maybe I should have called it a Bledsoe/Booker/Porzingis core. Chriss developing into something would be the gravy or the cherry on top.

Offer Bender and play it up like Chriss is untouchable, then reluctantly add him into the deal. Reverse psychology....it'll work on the Knicks. I'd give up Chriss BTW no problem, I just have concerns he and Porzingis would be a bit redundant.

I think they'd be pretty interesting together. They have some redundant skills, but they're good skills to have. Both can pick and pop, both can pick and roll, both can switch on D(more in theory for Chriss right now) and both can protect the rim.

We've had this gameplan of two pg's who can pick and roll on either side of the floor for awhile now, maybe what we really need is multiple bigs who could set the screen.

Yup, Im ready for the draft to start today. Lets get this thing over with. I almost couldn't stomach reading anything about the NBA after the draft. In my heart of hearts, I believe the draft is not rigged, but my goodness, it doesn't feel like it sometimes.

I think that the question ultimately is whether Philly takes Jackson at the #3, either for themselves or with a trade to another team. This feels like a no-brainer if they don't take him. I think Ill be fighting back the feeling that this last season was a disappointment if we don't end up with him.

I'm pretty torn between Jackson, Isaac and Tatum.

I want Fox and Markkanen if we can't get Jackson.

I just think we could have very interchangeable parts down the road with, Markkanen, Bender and Chris.

All three of them bring can shoot from range, run the court and pass the ball. My only question is on defense and rebounding.

I also think Fox could end up being the best player in this draft.

I think it is time to move on from Bledsoe and Alex Len. Fox and Markkanen could be fantastic replacements.

Love Fox, but dont think McD will pick him. Markkanen, he's not really a fit for me, I dont think we need another guy up front who cant rebound or defend at a high level. Now, if he did defend and rebound at a rate he'd probably be in the discussion for 1st overall.
